I don't normally use The word best but I have to say that red lobster pot absolutely had the best sautéed so I shell crab sandwich I have ever had. 20 years ago was probably the first time I went to Reds it's not much to look at from the street but a tremendous view of the day fishing boats and a very welcomed breeze from the Manasquan Inlet paired with some of the finest seafood it's prepared cafeteria style is an ambience that's hard to match. Service staff cleaning the tables always very nice and helpful and today's hostess was very nice trying to make some recommendations that we haven't seen on the menu. My wife had a delicious looking grilled shrimp and greens salad. Shrimps were hearty and very very fresh. Can't say enough about it. Plus it's a bring your own beer and wine. Listen, great seafood is not cheap this is not a 'value meal' restaurant but you want to treat yourself to a fantastic lunch or dinner, don't enjoy the tremendous views on the Manasquan Inlet and eat some of the finest seafood around. Peace

Thank Frank C

we ate outside , you order at the counter and someone brings your food. the counter girls were very pleasant. Overall the food was good , not great. The prices were high . The atmosphere is very loud and the tables we ate on were plastic , well used and did not appear overly clean. One of the good things was the whole lobster was $24 for a 1 lb. The other menu items were priced similar to several nice sit down restaurants in the area.

Very nice location, right by the water, you can watch the fishing boats come and go; come late for a bite and watch the sun set over the water; food is very good, tastes very fresh, service is good, ( you place your order, pay and sit down, they bring you the food ). However, I found the prices a bit steep. I had the Mahi Mahi sandwich, comes on sliced bread, lettuce, tomato, chips and cole slaw- $15. Its a nice atmosphere being near the water and all, but I wouldn't eat here every week. Its also a BYOB, which helps keep your expense down a bit. Has outdoor seating, and a small sit down restaurant inside.

We expect to pay more for the restaurants near the main strip, but this place was outrageous. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, 2 lobster grilled cheeses (not a lot of lobster in each of them mind you), and one lobster roll. Each dish was served with potato chips and a small container of cole slaw. In addition to this we ordered 5 bottles of soda. Our bill was over $80.00. We all left there still kinda hungry, our bellies were not as empty as our wallet was, but the meal WAS NOT WORTH THE PRICE!

Red's Lobster Pot has a new owner and the prices have really jumped from last year. There are two places to eat. One is inside in a very small restaurant and the other is on a deck that has a view of the Manasquan River. The menu is different. The food quality on the inside restaurant has been maintained but is expensive. Most of their fish dishes on the special menus are over $30.00. Since the restaurant is small it doesn't accommodate parties of more than 4 very well. The deck is good for a large party but the food is not as good as the inside restaurant.
