“Great Restaurants”
Reviewed 7 April 2012

No matter where you go you will find a restaurant with an extensive menu of seafood and steaks and spanish/portugese food. Food is always fresh, service is always attentive and there is always good value.

“A unique spot for great food and culture in downtown Newark”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

Food--fantastic! If you like port wine, paella, and/or feijoada, amongst other Portuguese and Brazilian delicacies, but can't travel to those countries, Newark Ironbound is THE place to go. Many restaurants are also connected to clubs for Latin dancing and traditional music. Most of the prices are expensive, but the portions are enormous, so really you're paying for a week's worth of food to bring home (what you don't finish there, of course!)

“Don't Miss”
Reviewed 24 February 2012

They have been revamping Ferry Street over the last year and it's looking great. Restaurants here are fantastic. Close to the train and arena. Go here before or after events. Don't eat at the arena. Food is Horrible and prices are super high.

“Great place to grab some unique food”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

The main street is FULL of restaurants - even though there isn't much of a variety there as it seems to be mainly Portuguese and Brazillian style food, there is still quite a large range of menus and priceranges for all. I enjoyed eating at a few spots where the food was tasty and just as unique as the people and the area - I highly recommend visiting the district a couple of times and trying new places each time - you'd have to actually TRY to have a bad experience
