Nice small mexican byob spot. Right next to the liquor store. Can't beat that. Friendly service, and pretty good mexican food. And extremely clean! Check it out!

After many years of absence we came back to see how the place was doing. It's next door to a liqour store so the BYOB part is easy and there's ample parking in the back. It very cozy (a little bit tight) and nicely decorated. We came early so there were only 2 tables occupied. We were seated near the front in a comfortable table and placing the bottle of wine we brought on the table for someone to cork it. Twenty-five minutes later the wine is still uncorked, no one has taken our order, and I had to get up and ask one of the servers to come to our table. Someone came quickly and uncorked the wine. We asked for wine glasses and the server said he'd be back with them. 10 minutes later I had to get up and abscond another server to bring the glasses. Considering that we were there when hardly anyone else was, the delay is inexplicable. Finally someone brought the glasses and took our order.
The tacos and salsa were non-descript; the main meal lacked flavor and substance and when we left, we felt cheated of the meal we had imagined we would get. So sorry to see that happen with a place that has been around for decades. Only positive was the pricing which was moderate and appropriate.

We had a nice lunch today at this Mexican spot.

Started with nachos, followed by a steak, fish tacos, regular hard shell tacos, followed by ice cream, and coffee.

service was friendly, and efficient.

recommended.

The type of night when you don't want to travel too far for dinner when there's nothing prepared. But, unlike travelers of olden days who had to set out not knowing what surprises awaited on their route, today we have no excuse not to heed the warnings of our fellow travelers. The dinner here was as disappointing as many reviews warned it would be. I think the restaurant has been around since the 1980s... neither the decor nor, more importantly, the menu seem to have been updated since then. I had a combination plate, which included something called an avocado taco. It turned out to be a fried taco shell with guacamole :-( Why don't they just call it that? It was accompanied by two lackluster burritos (cheese and bean). The three items, which were sadly placed on a metal plate with a little pool of some type of sauce, made my recent Aer Lingus dinner plate look like a Michelin-starred masterpiece (both in terms of taste and presentation). Whoever suggested that the chips were stale, I second your opinion.

We have not eaten at the restaurant itself so we can’t comment on the staff, but the food is excellent. We have have taken out from Jose's three times now. Each time seems better than the last time.
We ordered 4 entrees for 4 people two of which came with soup (loved the black bean soup). I ordered the port burrito this time with the spicy green sauce, just hit the spot cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Others ordered, Tostada Maya; A crispy flour tortilla shell filled with your choice of chicken, beef, pork or beans. Topped with melted cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Tacos Al Carbon (Sizzling Fajitas) Marinated and charbroiled Steak served with piping hot flour or corn tortillas to make your own soft tacos, and Pork Tacos, All dishes were served with sour cream and guacamole. We also got the freshest salsa with warm taco chips. Before we looked up our food was eaten and we were satiated.
