My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick for 3 nights as part of an NYC tour package. As the cost of the hotel was included in the package, I don’t know how much the rooms go for, so cannot equate value for money. What we can say is that we liked the hotel.
Check in:
It was quite organized. Our tour guide went to the desk to pick up an envelope containing our room keys. She distributed the keys, and off we went.
Room:
The room was a good size. Our balcony faced the highway, and you could hear the traffic go by, but we didn’t find it intrusive. It might be an issue for light sleepers, but the room did come with a sound machine that played sounds like running water, etc, and that might help to block out the noise if you have an issue.
The bed was very comfortable with good quality sheets, and lots of pillows. There was lots of space in the dresser and closet for unpacking. The TV worked well. There are 2 bottles of water on the desk, but they cost you $3/bottle if you drink them (you are better off taking a run out to the local convenience store and get your own water). The in room Coffee/tea was free.
The bathroom amenities included: cotton balls, queue tips, shower cap, and Neutrogena shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and bar...My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick for 3 nights as part of an NYC tour package. There were only 2 things that I found odd. 1) The temperature. While we could raise the temperature in the room, the AC in the hallway was so cold, I thought it might start snowing. & 2) The cord on the hairdryer was only a foot long. The hairdryer could barely reach for you to set in on the counter, and it made it difficult to blow dry your hair without contorting to make it reach the other side of your head.
Location:
We liked the location. It was only 2-3 blocks from the train station. There was a pharmacy and convenience store within a couple blocks, and a grocery store within 3-4 blocks. And there were tons of restaurants in the area. We felt safe walking around, and didn’t experience any issues.
Lobby bar:
We spent some time in the lobby bar the first night. It was a Thursday night and they had a jazz band playing. It was really nice, but service was a little slow.
Morning breakfast buffet:
We really enjoyed this. It had a large variety: Omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, pancakes, porridge, pastries, cheese, yogurt, cereal, toast and fruit. And, of course, they served coffee, tea and juice.
There is also a coffee station set up in the lobby in the morning, with to go cups. We really loved this perk.
Summary:
Outside of the freezing hallways and inconvenient short cord on the hairdryer, we really have no complaints and we would stay here again, and recommend it to our friends.More
