Dinner for four on a recent Saturday night. The menu (including the desserts) is quite interesting and the dishes are generally well-prepared. What has gone downhill is the service. It started with our table. We had asked for a nice table outside if possible. Yes, we got a table, but it was just as you left the building so we had all the server traffic and a great view of the dirty dish stand, but nothing of the pond. We would rather have sat inside. The waitress came and introduced herself and two other servers. Who cares? She then proceeded to tell us that the bartender was running late -- glad to know because our drink orders took 15 minutes (two of which were beers). the popovers arrived cold. The side dish for our main courses never arrived, and we were treated to the spectacle of our waiter bringing out the main courses but having nowhere to set the tray down in order to serve them. It took him a minute to catch someone's attention to find him a stand so he could set them down. All of this can be fixed - but it needs the attention of someone skilled in table management. Meanwhile, the setting is still the lovely, the restaurant is romantic and the food is well-prepared. If you get lucky on the service, you'll have a special evening.
