“Real Chinese food with a complete kitchen”
Review of Silver Pond - CLOSED

Silver Pond is Chinese restaurant the caters to Chinese customers as well as Americans. It's Chinese menu is the result of a full, professional kitchen with the largest variety of dishes in Northern New Jersey, and as good a taste as New York can offer. Whether its Dim Sum, hot pots or duck, they are prepared to please you.

They also have Americanized dishes, so you have the best of both worlds.

It would take months to eat through the menu, and it's well worth the effort.

Closed. We went to have Dim Sum there as we do every other month or so. We were so sad to see you that it had closed. My husband and I have been going there for over 20 years. So sad, we walked down the street and asked a shop owner what had happened and he said the gentleman who owned it had retired and they closed. There were building permits in the window hopefully someone will made this old gem new again with a beautiful new dim sum house. The Silver Pond rivaled Dim Sum that you can get in China Town. I know my husband, myself and my children will this Silver Pond very much.

they offer great dim sum, but getting service is next to impossible unless you speak Chinese. The dim sum is worth the visit, but be prepared for difficult service.

Not too many Chinese establishments in Northern New Jersey serve Dim Sum, so most people are forced to ventured into NYC, but Silver Pond in Fort Lee certainly meets up to my expectations! They have all the classic dim sum choices as well as the traditional push carts that wheel around the steamy treats. I usually get the Shrimp dumplings, Shrimp shumai, Pork Shumai, Pork spare ribs, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, chicken feet, clams in black bean sauce, fried shrimp with peppers, sponge cake, the egg tarts <3 , soup dumplings.... the list goes on! Although Dim Sum does seem like a "cheap" meal, the plates do add up so you've been forewarned!! haha Also remember to either bring cash or your Amex card because those are the only 2 forms of payment they will take. The convenience store next door does have an ATM ($1.75 fee)

This restaurant has been here for a number of years and has very good food. They have rice dishes ( large portion of rice with an entree served on top of it) that you see in Chinatown. The Chow Fun is quite good and is a large portion. We decided to try the Peking Duck which we found to be quite overpriced at about $50.00. It was served with these puffy and dense crepes and not the usual lighter and thinner ones that we have had at other restaurants in the past. The restaurant can get noisy at times, but service is quick. Prices are a bit on the high side.
