PSI was all lit and decorated for the holidays, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We chose the Chef's Tasting menu and were not disappointed. From beginning to end, we enjoyed every bite. Service was attentive and pleasant.

We stayed at the Angel B & B next door, so this was a brief walk on a cold evening. The exterior was decorated beautifully for fall. We had been told ahead of time that it was a BYOB but since we had just come from a wine and cheese event, we opted not to do so. All of the menu choices appealed to both my husband and me. I had the Hudson Valley Fois Gras and it was worth it. He had salad with beets and goat cheese which was very good. We both ordered the halibut with chanterelles and melted leeks. It was very good but I added pepper and wanted to add salt but refrained. The food was fresh and well prepared but we have had better. 410 Bank is probably a better meal but not elegant as PSI is.

How could it be do good to deserve these ratings? It is. Cape May has had a rich history of fine dining; The Waters Edge, Washington St. In, 410 Bank. The vibe of this place is sedate and homey. We went in Fall, and the fireplace in the seating area was blazing. The service is elegant; a team of servers placing your dishes on all the table in sync. Well paced and prompt.

We got the tasting menu. Expensive, but will worth it. About $200 per couple with tip (BYOB). First, an amuse bouche of tuna tartare. Lightly marinated and delicious. The soup, butternut squash with smoked trout. The best soup ever. Anywhere. Sweet, salty with a small dollop of smoked fish in the middle. Next, day boat scallops with root vegetables. Perfectly caramelized and crusted. The main course was steak on a bed of rizzotto with rock shrimp. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, charred and crusted on the outside. The rizzotto was creamy and delicious. The dessert, a chocolate lava cake with ice cream was gooey and warm, perfect for fall dinner. Amazing meal.

We had a wonderful experience at Peter Shields Resturant. We were celebrating an Anniversary and we were glad to have the Resturant Week options. The food was perfectly prepared and the portions were the regular size.
A very Special Thank You to Jessica at the front desk, She helped me with my reservation and confirmed my information and request to add 2 friends to our table. It is service like Jessica provided that will bring back happy diners to a fantastic resturant.
