Dining in an old mansion across from the ocean. Pleasant staff and decor.
For app I had mussels in a Thai broth. Very aromatic and tasty. Entree was a perfectly seared hangar steak over lobster risotto and with asparagus. Dining partner had a beet salad app and for her entree, Branzino filet with broccolini. She said the fish was buttery and flavorful. Desert was a creme brulee with fresh berries.
We went on a rainy, raw Friday night in February at a time when most fine dining restaurants are closed for the winter in Cape May; but this place was almost full. I then realized that this is a destination restaurant (and for good reason).
The price is on a par for a place of this quality. But if the cost is a problem, ask about the availability of their prix fixe menu. This is a "must-go" place for anyone who appreciates good food expertly prepared in a welcoming, pleasant setting.
