“Quiet relaxation in a cozy cottage on a perfect lake...”

First, the owner is wonderful. Second, the cottage is right on beautiful, quiet Pearly Lake. I was here for 4 weeks in July and the lake was always peaceful. You can swim to the dock, sit in chairs on the shore, or read on the deck and just soak in the beauty of stillness. The cottage has two bedrooms. The beds are not super comfortable and the sheets that are provided are very thin but I brought my own mattress pads and linens and was perfectly comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, the refrigerator is full size and the stove is gas. The deck is great with a gas grill and table and chairs for eating outside. There is no WIFI provided, cell service is ok. There is Direct TV but no on-demand or movie selections. There is a sitting area with 2 wing chairs that is just lovely with an air conditioner, there are ceiling fans or window fans throughout, bathroom is typical for a camp with shower stall, toilet and sink. Towels are provided but again very thin so bring your own. The main living area has a high ceiling, plenty of light and is painted white so it is very bright and cheery. The futon couch is not super comfortable but it is nice to have the extra sleep option. This is a fabulous cottage if a cottage or camp is what you are looking for. No frills, not fancy or modern just a simple, rustic NH lake retreat. Mount Monadnock , Cathedral of the Pines are close by. Groceries, liquor, coffee, fast food, great diner, pizza, Walnart, dollar store all within 10 minutes. Peterborough is close by with some great restaurants and Keene is a great town also within a 30 minute drive. Very happy with this experience.

“Idyllic N.H. Cottage”
Reviewed 15 October 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My husband & I had the pleasure of staying in this sweet cabin with our three kids (five, three and one). We absolutely loved our stay! The sun sparkling on the lake each morning was beautiful! Our kids loved the bunk beds & that the beach was only a few steps away. We spent most of our time on the large porch, on the beach or in the water. There were several games, books, movies, etc to keep us entertained each evening. The owner, Jim, was very friendly & helpful. We look forward to returning & will definitely be recommending the cottage to friends & family when they visit!

My daughter was graduating from Franklin Pierce University and we were coming to her graduation. This cottage is only a few miles from the Rindge campus - and to top it off, its on the lake! Infact, you can see the campus from the deck of the cottage. There were 5 of us who stayed at the cottage. There is two bedrooms that are adequate size. Dbl bed in one and bunk beds in the other. The Dbl bed in the main BR was comfy. Nice closet and bureau for putting away your clothes. The other BR had bunk beds. The three 20+ year olds said they would recommend bringing a foam mattress as the beds were a bit hard. However, not terrible. Nice size kitchen. We cooked all of our meals there. The living area was an open concept and worked great. There was a card game going on at the DR table, someone playing a guitar in the LR, people on the deck.... perfect for entertaining. The weather was cool and although the cottage had electric heat, we never turned it on. The cottage stayed very warm. Loved the deck and watching the wildlife on the cottage. Now - remember, this is a cottage!!! Its not a luxery apartment. Hence, if you expect a New England Cottage, that is what you get - not alot of frills but it had all the necesseties. The only downfall was very small driveway and the neighbors are all very close to the cottage (camps on both sides and across the road). So - not alot of privacy. The stairs going from the driveway to the cottage were steep and the landing at the bottom of the stairs was pretty slippery after some rain - so just use caution. The homeowner was exceptionally nice!! I would absolutely rent this place again. You will want to bring your own toilet paper and towels. The kitchen has all the necessities you will need (just bring your food). They let us use their canoe which the kids loved. Grocery store is very close by along with a Walmart. Directions were easy to find the cottage. It was a wonderful weekend and staying at the cottage verses a hotel was fantastic!
