Went on a VERY busy Sunday for brunch. They’re bloody Mary’s are delicious. The atmosphere is ink it nice. They have vegan options which is awesome. Food was delicious and despite being extremely busy, we got our food in a timely manner. Service was great too.

We couldn't wait to get back to Portsmouth to visit The Friendly Toast for breakfast. It didn't disappoint! First of all, a flight of various flavored mimosas at the bar while we waited for our table was the perfect way to start the morning. Their house-made bread is amazing, and such a great menu filled with unique items. Our group had John Scrambo, Babe Benny, BLT Benny, and poached eggs. All were outstanding! Super friendly service and fun atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

This is a must stop for anyone visiting Portsmouth. Everything about this place says "funky" ranging from the randomness of the decor of the restaurant, the abstract signage permeating the establishment, to the amazingly creative food and fun-filled menu. We loved all three of the items that we ordered (Some Like It Tot, Doughnut Stop Believin', and Kiss My Grits). Our server Dan was incredibly personable and told us a great deal about the history of the store and offered great food suggestions. We even bought some maple syrup to take home as souvenirs to our friends in the Midwest. This is the type of place that should be featured on the all of the cooking networks because of its uniqueness.

It was our second visit and we loved it. The food was awesome. The atmosphere is fun. The waitstaff is good but could use a bit more personality. The host’s were very helpful. I would recommend this place!

My daughter ordered NH Finest, granddaughter got kids chicken tenders(great value). I ordered Kiss My Grits, good choice, I wanted some anadama bread, received 2 slices of side order for $2.50. Had I known would have gotten a loaf for $5.00!
