We stopped by for their open house during the Market Square festival. We had a nice tour of the main floor (the upstairs wasn't accessible). It's a beautiful historic home, with original furnishings and leaded glass windows. There's also a pretty garden in the backyard. I've always loved the simple but elegant facade of this building.

This is definitely a case of if these walls could talk. This house has sheltered six generations of one family during the most tumultuous years of American history. Well worth a visit.

I visited the Warner House as part of a larger adventure of visiting many historic homes throughout New England. Thus it is hard for me to avoid comparisons. This house is certainly rich in history, and it was well presented by the kind and delightfully effusive female docent we had. The murals are most interesting…. but the overall impression was one of dreary shabbiness.

The house is dark and looks and 'feels' tired…. it in no way reflects the richness, grandeur and light one finds in a typical Georgian style home of the period - and certainly not appropriate for the home of the Royal Govenor. Despite all the brilliant light of our docent, we came away rather disappointed.

A great tour by House Manager Jeff Hooper that provided our group with a thorough history of the Warner House. Don't miss this gem!

This historic home has Delft and English tiles, the family's original furnishings and serving pieces, and portraits documenting 300 years if history from 1700s Whig to American Revolution Era. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and the one hour tour is so enjoyable.
