With her entire heart and soul into the management and operation of this B&B, Innkeeper/Owner Sondra could not have been more solicitous. 100% dedication! Spotless and so artistically appointed, the B&B is a haven for relaxation and enjoyment. As others said here, Sondra was hostess as well as part of the family. You could not find a more wonderful place for a summer by the lake or ski vacation near the mountains. The B&B was point of meeting for our family gathering and adults and children were fed and entertained non-stop. Off to ski slopes early in the morning from a wonderfully prepared homemade breakfast, we went directly to downhill skiing with tickets provided by the B&B. Retreating from the – 0 weather on the ski slopes, the next day we spent sledding the hill in front of the B&B so that we could warm ourselves periodically by the old wood stove that Sondra kept burning to warm our hands and dry our boots while we sipped hot chocolate.
Been lurking for tips here on TripAdvisor for many years, and this is the 1st time I actually felt so compelled to actually do a review. A must experience for a family gathering or romantic getaway.

Our family stayed at this B & B in January 2012. What a wonderful way to start the New Year!! It was the nicest B & B with spectacular views of Newfound Lake and the mountains. It has great rooms, great food and the owner Sondra was extremely gracious and welcoming. She cooked a truly fantastic breakfast for us and she added our special requests to her menu making sure it was pleasing to us. As a family we had the best time and found this Inn to be beautifully decorated and the fireplace in the great room was wonderful. We wouldn't have changed anything! Can't say enough good about this B & B and Sondra is the best hostess ever! The pictures don't really show how nice it truly is, it has been decorated beautiful with things in every nook and cranny, surely everything has a special meaning. We will all have special memories and we look forward to another stay. We would recommend anyone try this B&B, you wouldn't be disappointed.

I have been coming to Newfound lake area for over 20 years. I just discovered this B&B recently and I can guarantee you it is the best place to stay in this part of NH. Newfound and the surrounding area are a bit of an undiscovered gem - not nearly as developed or commercial as other parts of NH but with all the beauty - great hiking - incredible scenery etc.

The inn itself is very comfortable plenty of public space to comfortably relax in while not feeling like you are on top of other guests. And the rooms offer plenty of privacy - not like some inns where you feel like you can hear everything your neighbor does or says.

Sondra is a wonderful host - very accommodating - went out of her way to make us feel at home and make sure we had everything we needed. And prior to the trip she was great about providing info and making sure she could meet any demands we might have.

She does all the little things correctly - nice towels and sheets - tea and coffee easily accessible. Candles on the table etc.

The views are truly amazing - they by themselves would be worth a visit.

All and all a fantastic option for visiting the area.

When I look for a B&B I research long and hard to find the “right” place - a place that is full of charm and character, is run by welcoming hosts, is clean, comfortable, serves good food and is good value for money - in short a treat.

Sondra, the “innkeeper” (as B&B hosts are referred to in the USA), was very kind, helpful and extremely generous. Her guest house is a collection of interesting furniture, fittings, bits and pieces in every corner - each item with a story of its own, no doubt. There is also a wide selection of books, magazines and cds on offer.
The photographs on the website, don’t do the B&B justice - in my opinion, it’s more charming than in the website photos.
The view of Newfound Lake from the B&B is beautiful. The lake itself is gorgeous. We were there at the height of the “leaf peeping” season - spent one day around the lake and had the place to ourselves. We also spent a day on the Kancamagus Highway which we found to be crowded in places and no more beautiful than the area around the lake.
The only thing that I would adjust at the B&B is the breakfast. Sondra went out of her way to prepare elaborate, interesting and different dishes for breakfast - these usually too sweet, for our taste, were somewhat wasted on us. From our point of view, we would have preferred good wholesome breads, cheeses, fruit/veg, omelettes etc. (I see from previous reviews that most guests loved the breakfasts, so I guess this is just a matter of personal taste). Sondra’s assistant was also very nice and helpful.

We can happily recommend A Newfound B&B for a romantic, restful getaway – it’s a treat!

Make sure you have good directions and try to arrive during daylight hours, otherwise it can be tricky to find.

We tried Canoe Restaurant in Center Harbor - great food, outstanding Tiramisu! Kathleen’s Cottage was also very enjoyable. Both of these were recommended by Sondra.
