Description: Mention Mushroom Ravioli to any Reno resident, and you?re likely to get a one-word response, ?Eldorado.? This dish, named by Food Network?s 2019 list of the "Best Pastas in the Country," is a favorite at La Strada. Don't stop there, there's so much more on the menu to experience.

My wife & I wanted to have a romantic dinner to celebrate our anniversary. She's a nut for raviolis, so I asked around - "Where can I take my wife for the best raviolis in Reno?" The consensus answer: La Strada in the Eldorado. I made a reservation (its a good idea to make sure you can get in!) We arrived a few minutes early, so we had some wine in the bar at the entrance to the restaurant. It was quiet, cozy, & private... it was hard to believe that only a few yards away was the casino floor. Really good house red wine!

My wife ordered the chef's special: a 4-course meal of the chef's choosing... she's a lot braver than I am. We made a request that one of the courses be a ravioli, but the rest were up to the chef. She was not disappointed... her favorites were the mushroom ravioli & the chef's surprise shrimp dish. Top notch food, great service - the waiter was around when we wanted him, without hovering & interrupting the meal.

I had spaghetti bolognese... really, really good. Right up there with the best I've had, & reminiscent of one of the best meals my wife & I enjoyed in Rome several years ago.

If you're visiting Reno or you live here & are looking for really great Italian food, you can't go wrong here.

There is a pretty good Italian restaurant on the second floor. Getting through the Casino means for non-smokers leaving the slots and blackjack areas with smoke still clinging to your clothes and lungs.
La Strada fortunately is non-smoking and the food was quite good. We opened with a so-so caprese salad - the tomatoes were crisp and fresh but the mozzarella seemed old, mealy and somewhat unappealing. My veal piccata was fine although I was put off a bit by the grayish color of the veal. However, my companion's rabbit pasta was delicious and perfectly prepared.
There may be better Italian restaurants in Reno but this was fine for being down in the casino district.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure to eat at LaStrada at the El Dorado in Reno. Best meal we've had in a long time! Our waiter,Tony, recommended the chefs tasting menu which changes daily. Just superb! From the first course through dessert,it was great! They also offer a wine pairing, we didn't take advantage of it this time, but probably will in the future.great meal for a great price. We can't wait to go back to LaStrada!

I love that they have home made pasta and world famous mushroom ravioli. The servings are small to medium. The shrimp appetizer was outstanding! Beautiful restaurant and good service. Very good food

Because we were in Reno for the bowling tournament coincident with our 39th wedding anniversary, and we had such a great and romantic experience two years ago in this restaurant, we decided to celebrate our anniversary dinner in this facility. I had contacted the restaurant directly a week or so before letting them know we would celebrate with them on our special day and was told to notify our server of the special occasion. We did inform both the hostess and the waiter when we arrived, and we are aware that the hostess also confirmed with the waiter that we were celebrating a special day. The first thing we noticed was that the restaurant was very busy and the staff appeared to be having some difficulty keeping up. It was almost chaotic and did not lend itself to anything romantic. Our server was nice and well informed on the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine and an antipasta to get things started. They were excellent. Based on our visit two years earlier, my wife ordered the mushroom ravioli and I the carbonara (I have raved about the way they prepared that since the last time we were there). The mushroom ravioli measured up to my wife's memory as being very good. The carbonara was another story. From what we learned, the chef changed the recipe for it and instead of a fettucine type pasta made with a light sauce, it was now some kind of heavy spiral pasta with a very heavy sauce. A major disappointment to say the least. On our previous visit, I never once had to refill our wine glasses as the waiter attended to us very well. Water glasses were always filled. Not so the case at all on this visit. We also noted that the couple behind us found hair in there food. The advertisement that this restaurant was one of the top ten Italian restaurants is very misleading. It was either a bad day or someone has changed the standards by which the rate such restaurants. Needless to say we left very disappointed.
