This is a family-owned restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. The food is very good, with all the bread baked in-house. The only maddening thing is that the service is slow because everyone multi-tasks (hence only 3 stars instead of 4). Do try the curry chicken salad, and buy some of their delicious home-made bread or rolls.

Russells' is a family-owned enterprise that has been delivering consistently good food and service for the last several years. Lunches are a great presentation of original recipes, all created from scratch and as fresh as can be. Their broccoli salad is not to be missed, and comes as a side with several sandwiches. Doug and Kim Russell bake a delicious array of bread, muffins and cookies, as well as the best cakes in town on special order. The Russells are in demand for catering, and they also deliver to groups such as local companies. Russell's Mercantile is located in a strip mall right on Highway 395. Shelves of gift items surround the dining area, and you can also go home with homemade jam or local honey. My personal favorite is their whole wheat bread, though there is plenty of temptation in their cinnamon pull-aparts and pumpkin muffins. Kim and Doug are down-to-earth folks with a wonderful set of values, and it shows in every aspect of their business.
