Tropiana Laughlin offered a so-called southern-style brunch on Easter Sunday. They had tickets for $35 pp while some players were comped. This event was truly a pathetic failure. Their southern food was the basic mediocre food they always have on their morning buffet -- only COLD. They had no special treats at all, not even the type of food you usually find at a nice Sunday brunch. No shrimp, no crablegs, no eggs benedict, NO southern specialties such as red beans and rice or etoufee, no pecan pie or Bananas Foster --- NOTHING. In fact, they didn't even try to make it seem like an Easter event. They could have at least had some Easter chocolates or something on the dessert table. They put absolutely no thought or effort into this whatsoever, They certainly expect players to be GENEROUS. However, they are NOT. The one and only positive was a good band and singer --although they were so loud guests could not speak to each other. People at our table left most of the food on their plates and left disgusted.

The check-in process was easy and the rate was reasonable for the area. I did try to book online but was booted out of the website twice so ended up calling it in which was somewhat tedious. Note if you book online you can get free Wifi in your room which otherwise is only available in the Casino or an extra charge for you room.
The rooms are basic but nice and the beds were comfortable. Had a 10th floor non-smoking room overlooking the pool. Smoking in the Casinos is allowed everywhere but was not overwhelming. If you can't handle cigarette smoke at all then Laughlin is not the place to go. Even the non-smoking areas in the Casino smelled like smoke.
Not much else to do around the area except gamble.

The worst part about Laughlin / Bullhead City area is there really isnt a nice place to stay. The casinos are much better than the hotels in Bullhead....and I mean MUCH better. But that isnt saying much.

The Aquarius is marginally nicer and Harrah's is about the same. I would rank this place third.

The check in procedure is relatively painless. Parking is only a pain in the neck if their is an event or during the summer when the hotels fill up. Self parking costs you nothing and its not a terrible walk to get inside.

Once inside you are immediately under gas attack by cigarette smoke. Between the legal marijuana and the cigarette smoke, the place literally stinks! Every single room I have stayed in here while on work assignment has smelled like stale cigarettes and weed. There is really no attempt to cover it up.....hey guys, they sell citrus air freshener at the carwash!!!

The rooms are adequate. Not special, adequate. I think they do this so you want to spend the least amount of time in the room and go play the tables or slots.

Food choices are ok inside but I usually end up going to the In N Out burger across the parking lot or walking over to the Outback in the Aquarius.

Laughlin in general is referred to as the "poor man's Vegas" and it lives up to that reputation. If I didnt have to come here for work, I would avoid the entire area and you should too!!

Synopsis: Your choices are very limited in the area and the casinos are the better bet. Just dont expect Vegas level cleanliness, service, or experience. You will go away disappointed.

The room was very clean and the cleaning staff very friendly. The view from the 10th floor was pleasing. We have stayed at many Casino hotels over the years and we now include Tropicana on our list to stay. We stay in laughlin 3 to 4 times a year. We have never had a problem with the staff. Not sure why some people are not happy, maybe they expect Mom service ( not when you are out) We also like their buffet and the Italian restaurant is excellent food and value. You may have to wait on Monday & Tuesday but it is worth it.

Room tip: 10 th floor facing North (Above the outside parking)

I have been visiting Laughlin for almost 20 years and decided to try a stay at the Tropicana. Big mistake. I understand sometimes valet can get crazy but that didn't justify the rudeness of the valet staff upon check in on March 16, 2018. When we arrived to our room, the musty smell was overwhelming and we couldn't find one working outlet (the 2 we did find were super loose and our phone chargers kept coming unplugged) so we had to unplug lights and the alarm clock. On Saturday, March 17th, we went to the bagel shop and the staff working were super rude. We ate at the main restaurant on Sunday morning and the food was nauseating, especially at almost $10 for a cheese omelet. I really have nothing good to say about this hotel and will not being staying here in the future.
