“Perfect Location, a short walk from the strip.”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

The Carriage House is a couple of blocks from the crazy Las Vegas strip. We loved the break from the lights, horns and people. This was our first trip to Vegas and since we are not gamblers, this was perfect for us. We also wanted a nonsmoking environment, so the Carriage House was ideal. The room was clean and comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave. There is no dining at the hotel, but that was fine because the location was close to the strip and all of it's dining options. There is a nice basic outdoor pool and jacuzzi. I would highly recommend the Carriage House if you are looking for a clean basic room off of the strip. Just a word about Vegas, I would not recommend bringing young children. I know Vegas is trying to market the area as family friendly. There may be rides and attractions for kids, but every evening as we were walking down the street, there are people trying to hand you cards for the stripper shows and they are all over the ground. If traveling with kids, I would do attractions during the day and hit the pool at night. Also, the Jersey Boys show was FANTASTIC!

So, so glad we booked the Carriage House for our recent trip to Vegas for our Nephew's wedding! Have not been to Las Vegas for about 5 or 6 years.....we decided to stay somewhere without a casino, which would be different for us.....soooooooooooo glad we did!!
The Carriage house is a couple short blocks from the strip. Planet Hollywood was the closest hotel/casino to us and very walkable.
Our room was spotless and nicely decorated. Our room was 816 and I believe that floor is all non-smoking.
Our room faced the monorail, which we thought was cool to see it passing by every now and then,. was not noisy to us at all.
Very friendly staff, easy check in process and parking great, just for customers because you have to display a ticket in your windshield while parking there.
Security on site, even secured elevators.
Hotel does not have a restaurant, but that did not bother us....our room had a small fridge and microwave, so we usually had left overs from dinner that we put in the fridge then able to heat up when we wanted.
Would definitely recommend the Carriage House for anyone who wants to be in Vegas but not in the hustle/bustle of it 24/7.

This facility has a good location, just a block away from the strip, but away from the noise and crowds. The housekeeping service was very good the entire week we were there. It was great having a frig and microwave. Only two elevators, but they were fast and also had built in security (had to use room key to operate). The only negative for us was the room was smaller than we expected and the management would not allow us to remove an armchair that we knew we would not use the entire week. Check Skyauction.com for good deals on this location.

Room Tip: Check Skyauction.com for good deals on one week stays at this location.

My husband and I stayed here the end of February. We had researched it previously on Trip Advisor and decided it was the place for us. We are not gamblers so the appeal of a non-gambling accommodation was high on "plus" side of what we were looking for. It's not a non-smoking establishment, but you didn't have the stench of cigarette smoke to greet you upon entering either. Our room was non-smoking but I don't think the floor was non-smoking. To combat this there was a good strong flush of cold air each morning in the hallway. The windows open a bit and that was plenty enough to circulate the air in the room each day. We pretty much left them a crack all day. All hotel rooms are stuffy. I don't think I can say enough about how much we enjoyed this place. It's smaller than the other hotels, but that's a plus-much less hubbub in the foyer for check-in, easy to navigate in all respects and the parking is very good. It's easy to walk to the strip and easy to drive from as well. As for the room itself, nicely updated with good quality furniture. The bed was king size and very comfortable. We had a full kitchen, which we were looking for, that was also updated to stainless steel appliances. The maid service was quite good, too. There is a pool, excellently cared for each day, that we didn't use being February and a bit too cold. The concierge was helpful and accessible. The security, as another reviewer mentioned, was excellent. You certainly felt safe. And it was quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep. I don't think I would ever stay at the big hotels should I visit again.

We stayed one night here in Las Vegas before going on to the rest of our trip out west and were quite pleased with the location and the room's amenities (full kitchenette allows us to keep milk and have cereal and fruit in morning without spending enormous amounts of money on greasy food in questionable restaurants). The desk clerk and concierge service were helpful and the elevators fast. Only negative is very tight parking spaces and the free WiFi did not work; at connection ads came rolling in before the ISP interface and the log-in user access code interface got stuck in some loop after I accepted "Terms of Service" and wouldn't correct even with log off and restart--when I complained I was told I "must have had some cookies that needed clearing." BS! I tried the service 3 x (at 6 pm, 10pm and 4 am) and it never worked. Rustik Wireless, their ISP, stinks! Note that this is a time-share that turned into a "hotel" so there's no restaurant or casino but there's plenty of such places nearby, in walking distance. It's also at the airport end of Las Vegas, so handy to get to. Ignore hotel website directions from airport which are overly complicated, and just turn onto E Harmon from Tropicana. It's also SMOKE FREE and Wheelchair Accessible, two big plusses for us!

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and were give suite 601 and were happy with that!
