We upgraded to a room with a view of strip and it was worth the extra $50 per night to see the mountains and look down upon the beautiful pools at The Palazzo. Very nice hotel compared to others we saw in Vegas (the Wynn seemed gorgeous as well). The Palazzo and Venetian make for a nice combo - and what's more - there's a Walgreens between them so you can stock up on water bottles and snacks at reasonable cost. The Venetian also has a nice food court for affordable lunches should you be travelling with family. The Delmonico Restaurant at the Palazzo (Emeril Lagasse) was wonderful. Our room had 3 flat-screen televisions (one in the bathroom!) and more square footage than most condos. This and the gorgeous lobby, tasteful marble and decor made The Palazzo a beautiful retreat. We popped in the Belaggio, Treasure Island and Caesar's Palace and immediately knew we had picked the better hotel. I understand The Wynn and Mandalay Bay are lovely too - not so sure about others. The only drawback I can think of was the towels weren't very soft, but the bed was the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a hotel. The Palazzo / Venetian combo is huge so for anyone who's never been, be forewarned that you will do a lot of walking (don't be fooled by all the pretty ladies in 6 inch heels you see everywhere - they are suffering!).
