S#*T HOLE!

Review of Hotel Galaxy
1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Nov 2017via mobile
Booked here because looked ok from other reviews, but it’s not! Old, run down, not clean and dodgey. Not as close to the strip as advertised. We booked 4 nights and after a day out and returning for the 4th night we got back to the room to find all our luggage gone, they had messed up our reservation only booking us for 3 nights and took our luggage hostage... had to pay late check out fee and additional day to get our gear back... promptly left after this.
Save yourself disappointment and stay on the strip or at a known hotel chain.

This was a last-minute reservation when plans changed and I needed to stay the night to wait for the rest of our party to arrive. I wasn't interested in any of the big hotel/casino chains and just wanted basic accommodations. Basic is being kind. The TV wouldn't turn on at all and it took forever for maintenance to come fix it which made it work for only a short time. The rooms were not clean, beds old and bathroom fixtures worn out. It has been years since I stayed at a place that had the alternating scalding hot/freezing cold water depending on what the person in the next room did with their toilet/sink/shower, but that was the case here. The police came twice during my time here, which gives you an idea of the clientele. Finally, don't even consider this place if you are pulling a trailer. The only entry/exit is a steep incline from the street and you can not get in and out without severe dragging.

Booked the room online through Orbitz. Reviews seemed pretty decent. First time in Las Vegas and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel located on the strip. Based on the search online it appear it was closed to the strip but in reality it really is not close. You would need a Uber or Rental Car to get around. The room was horrible. No lighting. The toilet made a weird noise when it flushed. The curtain didn't close all the way no the window, so people walking by can see right into your room. After looking online for another place to stay I went ahead and checked out and didn't look back. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

An old motel with some updates. The decor, bathroom vanity, and shower have been updated. AC worked good. TV would not turn on. No towels in the bathroom, which seems odd. All adults had to show ID, which is also odd. Bed was a little bouncy, but for a cheap hotel, the weird quirks were okay.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Location is neither great nor bad. It is near the strip but not very walk able. The room with 1 king-size bed was very small. The bathroom was not exactly in the desired state. A microwave and refrigerator was provided but the refrigerator did not seem to work. The hotel has an open area on one side in front of rooms so you get bright hot sun as soon as you open the room.

Cons: It's a hole in the wall hotel, some of the people that are staying at the hotel looked very shifty, beds are hard like rocks stone, and there was no towels in the room, furniture is old, and the floor feels gross like it was it mopped or swept. Also they don't change their blanket so be prepared to bring your own.

Pros: they serve continental breakfast, The pool water was very warm and felt nice, very close to the strip and fast food restaurants, they have Cox cable which offered great television for the kids.
