With no small amount of trepidation after our first trip, my wife and I decided to take up an offer by Encore to make things right and we are so glad that we did. I wanted to write this review a couple months ago due to the first review being so negative but the second stay was too close to the first one so I had to wait. We stayed at Encore September 13th-16th. I promised Ruben, the excellent manager who reached out to me after our first review that I would write one just as detailed and hit all the positives of our second stay so here it is.
Our second experience began when we checked out at Planet Hollywood where we stayed for a couple nights at the beginning of our trip. We were picked up in a Wynn limo by a very friendly and courteous driver named Peter promptly at 11am. Traffic was light on the strip so we drove right down Las Vegas Blvd and made some nice small talk with Peter. He took us to the Encore Tower Suites check-in. We were helped with our bags by John C., and were checked in with no problems whatsoever despite our early arrival. The front desk girls were friendly and polite and asked if we would like her to show us to the room but since John was coming to the room with our bags and we...With no small amount of trepidation after our first trip, my wife and I decided to take up an offer by Encore to make things right and we are so glad that we did. We headed up to our Parlor Suite and John was extremely helpful showing us all the features and controls of the room and putting our bags where we needed them and even going to get a bucket of ice for us.
Before I go further, I would like to take time to recognize something that really sets Steve Wynn's properties apart from any other properties I have stayed at, not just in Las Vegas, but anywhere. Wynn and Encore have an employee culture that every business person should appreciate and try to understand. Pretty much every single employee you deal with anywhere on the property is convincingly dedicated to making sure the guests have a great experience and take pride in their work. They all have glowing things to say about working for Wynn Corp. I ask every employee who I have the chance to engage in conversation how long they have worked for Wynn and about 9/10 have been working for Wynn for a decade or more. Many of them have been working with Wynn since he was at Bellagio and some of them since he was at Mirage. They must do a phenomenal job of selecting employee prospects, a great job of training them, and an absolutely terrific job at retaining them. The seamless luxury experience only has the stage set by the beautiful surroundings (and this property is truly stunning in so many ways), but the employees are the heart of the operation and they are awesome. If you stay there, take the time to talk to some of the staff and ask them about their jobs and careers at Wynn, the place should absolutely be a case study in how to build an organization.
Back to the trip. The Parlor Suite is phenomenal. There is a powder room in the foyer by the main entrance and you enter into the spacious living room with floor to ceiling windows and a high ceiling with a desk, huge flat screen, signature Encore couch with Chaise, small table for dining with two chairs, and a wet bar. Going through the french doors to the Huge bedroom with beautiful King Dream Bed, chair and ottoman by the floor to ceiling windows, and another huge flat screen on the wall swivel mount. The bathroom is huge, with a beautiful jetted tub and huge marble shower with seat. The room was immaculately clean. We had a smoking room but you couldnt even smell the smoke. I also liked the enormous glass ashtray that probably weighed 8 pounds. There was also of course a stocked mini bar and snacks, as well as a complimentary mini fridge for us to use for our own stuff. All in all, the room was absolutely stunning, perfect in every way, and we didnt want to leave. A delightfully sweet housekeeper named Melody came in and did our turn down service that evening and was awesome as well.
After checking in and getting settled, we were hungry and wanted sashimi so we went to Wazuzu where we were served a delicious chef's selection of sashimi. Our server was Andy, and he was quick and efficient. I wrote a detailed standalone review of Wazuzu after the trip so I wont rehash it all here but I highly recommend eating here if you have a desire for sushi or sashimi in a more laid back setting while on property.
We went to the Encore pool after eating and caught a little sun. The cocktail waitresses and attendants were all very friendly. The pool is beautiful.
We had tickets to Jeff Dunham at Caesar's that evening so we wanted to get something quick so we dropped in at the new Charley's Grill at the brand new sportsbook. I also wrote a detailed review of this establishment. Charley's was a new favorite. The burgers we had were literally the best burgers weve ever had in our lives. Our server Jeff was super friendly and had good suggestions and came over and said hi to us a couple days later when we ate there again. Denham was meh, some very funny bits, some crappy ones and we were pooped that evening so we came back and had a nice relaxing evening in the suite which felt like a nest of secluded heaven.
Thursday was awesome. we did the pool once in the morning and again in the afternoon. I hit some VP and slots and a little bit of blackjack, and the wifey did some browsing and shopping. we did the in room continental breakfast which comes with some yogurt, delicious berries, and a vegan muffin that made me understand how it is possible for people to actually be vegan. I didn't realize anything vegan could be that delicious, I was wrong. The whole day went smoothly, in the evening we did order some room service, which as per last time, was top notch. in room dining in encore tower suites is ALWAYS worth it so we get it fairly often some of the servers that I can recall the names of were Pam and Sara and of course one guy who must be mentioned is Biz. The final morning of our stay the gentleman who delivered our breakfast promised me that the double pot of cappuccino he had brewed would be the best I had ever had as he had immigrated from Sudan. Unbeknownst to me, Sudan is apparently to Barrista's what Charlestown was to Bank robbers because he was not lying Best. Coffee. Ever. I like when people back up bravado. If you are staying at Encore and ordering coffee to the room in the morning, request this Biz's coffee.
Friday we had a busy day lined up. I had a massage at the spa, the wife had a spa and 2 salon appointments. We had tickets for Le Reve that night and dinner following at Andrea's.
The Spa is awesome, you get an all day pass with any treatment or massage so I took advantage of that, the spa attendants are super helpful and efficient and the whole facility is just relaxing and refreshing. I had the Chinese Good Luck ritual massage by CeeCee, and she did a phenomenal job. I also had some good luck later at the tables so maybe theres something to that. I highly recommend this massage. Wifey's favorite part of the resort is the spa no ifs ands or buts about it. She got the Mediterranean body wrap with the mini facial package with a tea tree enhancement to the facial and she loved every minute of it. She also had body bronzing and a mani and pedi at the Wynn Salon so she could get her bronzing done by Amy the master bronzer who did her bronze last trip at Encore. As before, Amy did an amazing job, and Wifey says I must also mention that Brianna the spa associate at Wynn was very helpful and Patty who did her body wrap at Encore was fantastic.
If you stay at Wynn/Encore, whether you are a man or woman, even if you dont get a treatment, it is absolutely worth it to get the $40 spa day pass and enjoy a few hours there.
My wife truly loves the Wynn Collection store. One of the reps there, Mayble, was very helpful to her and even took down the type of things she likes and sent her an email with a selection of things she thought my wife might like with Black Friday pricing. My wife actually bought a beautiful pair of velvet boots from her this afternoon on the phone. She deserves recognition for going above and beyond
La Reve was perfect in every way. Ive seen many Cirque shows but Le Reve deserves all the awards it has won and the round theatre is my favorite theatre venue in Vegas. The seats are comfortable, there isnt a bad seat in the house, and the temperature is perfect. The show is breathtaking to the point where my wife had tears running down her face a couple times at just how beautiful it was. If you haven't seen this show, see it. Like everything else here, it's first class.
We were heading home Saturday which was the same day as the big mayweather/mcgregor fight. We played some roulette early and hit the spa for an hour before our limo to the airport. My wife forgot a very important necklace in our room and didnt realize it until we were on the road. our driver radioed back, turned around halfway, and brought us back to the hotel where a bellman brought us the necklace. What fantastic service.
To wrap things up, everything about our second trip was awesome, Everybody we encountered who worked there did a phenomenal job. Ruben absolutely has me convinced that our first negative experience was an absolute anomaly. We are going back in December for my birthday and we can't wait.More
