“Very Cosy Cottage”
Reviewed 7 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the cottage. The owners had done an excellent job of restoring the old stone barn. Everything was renovated to a very high quality. We particularly liked the oak joinery and stair case. The rooms are all very spacious and comfortable. The cottage was very well insulated, making it very cosy. The kitchen area is very well equipped. As we live in the country ourselves, we enjoyed the peace and the quiet, especially at night.

Though the cottage is not on a working farm, we enjoyed watching the deer and the ducks and appreciated the far reaching views at the side of the hangars opposite the cottage.

We rented the cottage at the end of October to explore the area, and therefore were not in the cottage much during the day. I can imagine however that in the summer, those renting the cottage would appreciate somewhere pleasant to sit and read outside. There didn’t seem to be anywhere designated for that.

The cottage is perhaps a little isolated for some, but it is very close to the A37 and the A303 and therefore made it fairly easy to get around the county. The pub in the nearby village, which was around 15 minutes’ walk from the cottage, was friendly and traditional.

We can definitely recommend the cottage and would consider going there again if we had the opportunity.
