They were going to close for the season in 2 days, so were out of most everything on the menu. We had the soup and salad, It seemed pricey.

We ate only once in the Timberline Cafe as we were disappointed by the service. The waiter we had was clearly foreign, and he obviously had difficulty in understanding our order (we were nine at table). Of the nine orders, two were incorrect, and as the service was not exactly rapid, we were reluctant to accept a replacement, even though tis was offered. It would have been better to get it right first time.

Late night place to eat after day of daughter's wedding venue preparations, and found this place.
Quaint western charming place with smaller menu.
Seated quickly and service was good. Wife had country fried steak which she said was quite good. I had the fish & chips, not so good. Fish was not a filet as I was expecting, but rather several "fish nuggets", which I had never seen before...they were very small but were OK... I was very hungry so it got eaten. Fries were hot, Had I known I would have had a more substantial meal.
We both had huckleberry ice cream for dessert which was quite good. Noticed a lot of non-workers/non-customers loitering around the back area, trying to talk with cooks/staff, not sure what that is about but it distracted from their customer service.
All things considered here I am not sure we would revisit this place if in the area again.

We stayed one night at The Madison motel and ate supper and breakfast at Timberline. We were tired after a flight into Salt Lake City and a long drive up to West Yellowstone and the restaurant was very convenient from the motel. Only hiccup at supper was that the salad bar was empty on lettuce but that was quickly remedied by staff. Both of us had the lasagna which was very good. The servings were large and piping hot from the oven. Next morning we had an early breakfast with a goal of entering Yellowstone Natl park by 8 am. Again, service was friendly and efficient and the omelets were hot and well prepared. Side of hash browns and toast rounded out a very good breakfast.

Breakfast and evening meals here.

Could live on their French toast :-)

Reasonably priced and convenient for guests of the Hotel next door.

Probably other places to eat but this did us well for two days. Also happy to modify meals to suit vegetarian requirements.
