We had an amazing week at TCR. This place is excellent and staying here is truly a luxurious experience. The food is like eating at a 5 start restaurant in Manhattan every night and the drinks are extremely well made. The staff here is so welcoming and really makes sure you have a great time. I can't wait to go back for a 3rd time!

Two new things I did this year that I would highly recommend:
1. Photo safari - a trained photographer took us to a private 25,000 acre ranch and helped us take amazing pictures of local wildlife. TCR even supplied me with a top notch camera. This event is included and requires no additional charge. In fact, probably the best thing about TCR is that everything on the ranch is included - you really don't need to spend any additional money to have a memorable vacation. They even printed the pictures and made a photo CD for me.

2. Wilderness ride - we took a small plane to the Bob Marshall wilderness and went for an all day ride. I was so great. The pilot was vey nice and informative and he showed us how vast and beautiful this part of Montana is. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Also, our guide and the horses we rode for this activity were fantastic. We had a wonderful day walking my natural waterfalls and going on private trails. I would highly recommend it to anyone (feel free to email me with any questions).

Thanks again TCR for a great vacation!

We loved the week we spent at TRC, and we would definitely go back.
The service was fantastic - perhaps the friendliest we've ever experienced and very efficient. We really felt like each and every one of the staff wanted to make things perfect for us - so generous, gracious and thoughtful. They really seem to think of everthing. We had a warm, fuzzy feeling the entire time.
The setting is gorgeous - the river, grounds and horses. Really stunning.
But I have to say that I am shocked at how many people and publications rank TRC as the nicest resort in the US or even the world (?!). For service and/or location I can understand, but the facilities just don't match up with many other resorts. There's no spa, the pool is small, antiquated and surrounded by plastic chaises, and the gym is only one room (unpleasant for more than one person at a time). The cabins are very nice, but not the best.
I am by no means discouraging anyone from going - it is a WONDERFUL destination that is very unique and well worth the money. But for expectations management I think it's important to know that some attributes of the resort are definitely not THE BEST - they just aren't.
We loved how much was included in the rates, especially food and wine. It's so nice not to have to deal with checks all the time - really adds to the relaxation. The food was very plentiful and generally very good. Breakfast was the best, especially the pastries. I do NOT have a sweet tooth, and I LOVED those things. Better than any pastries I've ever had anywhere - Paris, Vienna etc. Incredible. Lunch was the weakest meal by far - both in selections and execution. Dinner was mixed, with some items that were exquisite and others that were just ok. I would have liked more fresh vegetables for sure.
The wine that was included in room rate was surprisingly pretty bad, and didn't change over the course of the week - disappointing. The hard alcohol and beer selections (also included) were very good. There is a wine list for purchase (extra) that was relatively extensive, but overpriced. If you're a wine snob, I suggest you bring or ship your own wine or plan to spend a good amount extra on it while you're there.

We stayed at Triple Creek for four nights. Because of the cost, this was a splurge for us. It was a leap of faith that was fully rewarded. We left with a feeling of fulfillment, rest, adventure and no regrets regarding the cost. We would recommend it to anyone but even more to those who love horses and riding. The cabins, food and staff are all first rate. They deserve the Relais and Chateau designation. What a wonderful relaxing experience. More opportunities than you can possibly take advantage of without an extended stay. In one word, Fabulous.

Room tip: Look at the map for room (cabin) locations.

Every aspect of your stay is anticipated and provided by the TCR staff. No matter what your culinary or athletic taste, they will provide five star service. The photo safari, moonlit horseride, or simply reading in one of the many cabins or quiet corners of the lodge will revitalize and fortify the weary traveler! The chefs and their respective staffs will saute your rainbow trout when you return from fishing, a lunchtime ride into the Bitterroot Mountains on horseback will be so memorable but, the best of all will be your day working on a cattle drive! Go there, stay there, relax, and you will always want to return!

Room tip: All of the cabins will please you so do not fret over which to pick from
