“Wonderful Food and Drinks with a fabulous view”
Review of Flathead Lake Brewing Company - CLOSED

Flathead Lake Brewing Company
Price range: USD 5 - USD 15
Description: A bar is a bar, a taproom is home. There's something about walking into a small, cozy place after a long hard day on the job or playing, pulling up a stool and ordering your favorite local brew. Woods Bay is an intimate community, and our original taproom fits in perfectly. It's a small space with a big view. It's nautically themed, with a large deck perfect for live music on sunny Sunday afternoons in the summer. If you visit us here more than once there's a very good chance you'll see more than one familiar face. Our taproom offers the perfect place to enjoy our craft brews. So come visit us, sit down, enjoy a beer and maybe even chat with our brewers and staff.

This is a true Montana experience. Great food, specialty drinks, special brews and a wonderful staff. Plus you are overlooking onto Flathead Lake.

I've been to the brewing company a few times when chef Josh was cooking and I used to love the pasta and reubens. I don't believe Josh was there when I went back this time, and it definitely showed in the quality of food. We called in to order two cheeseburgers to-go and they said it would be a 15 minute wait. When we arrived fifteen minutes later to pick up our food, another girl came in asking for whatever food they had left over at the end of the night. (It was 8:30 pm) Through a communication mix-up between the staff and the girl, they ended up giving that girl our to-go cheeseburgers. She took them out to her car and she was in her car with our cheeseburgers for several minutes before the brewing company staff noticed the mix-up. They ran out to get our food from the girl's car, then handed it to us. The girl came back in and asked for more food since she couldn't have our cheeseburgers. They ended up throwing on two fresh burgers and gave us the old burgers that had been in her car. Five minutes later, disappointed from how it was all handled, we got home to eat our burgers and discovered they were black. I know the menu lists them as flame broiled and cooked medium well, and that would have been great, but the burger patties were blackened, crunchy on the sides, very cold and totally inedible. Our side of onions rings were soggy and had burned black spots we had to eat around. Seems like they were left under a heat lamp too long. We ended up throwing everything away in the trash because we couldn't stand to take a second bite. After spending $25.00 on food we couldn't eat, we're incredibly disappointed. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself in the past, it is never okay to re-serve food from another customer. The only reason we didn't complain is they were closing in 15 minutes and I didn't want to burden the staff by cooking another meal after their kitchen was cleaned. On a side note, when I tried to view their menu online that night, their website directed me to a viagra pharmacy.

Dear Rebecca, I want to first thank you so much for this review. Without ones like these we can not make things better and your experience with us is not acceptable to myself or my management in anyway. We will be addressing this today. I would like your help to fix this. Can you please tell me what night this was and what the person looked like who helped you. I know I can not erase this; but I hope you do know (from other times you have been here) that this is not a typical experience. If you would email me this information at sandy@flbcpubhouse.com I would appreciate it and then I can have a way to reimburse your meal.

On a side note (amazing timing) our website was hacked last week and we worked as fast as we could to fix the problem of the redirection to a medical site. It is working and in our control again.

Thank you, Sandy Johnston (owner) and Sarah Peterson (PR Manager)

The restaurant sits on the edge of flathead lake overlooking the lake shore. The staff is extremely pleasant and the place was bustling. There is a tap room of full service bar an restaurant. We had dinner. My husband had a flight of beers before he settled on his voice for dinner. I had the Montana cider. He had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich while I had the Montana burger. I ordered it medium rare in the hopes it would come at least medium. Nothing doing it was well (the menu says burgers done to medium well) it was ok but a little to dry and definitely charred for my taste. Overall though we had a very enjoyable first meal in Montana.

For beer lovers this is an excellent restaurant to visit. I'm not one so I'm relying on my friend who is. We both had hamburgers and fries, the main staple on their menu. Excellent meat, ok bun, and plenty of fries cooked just right. It's not a quiet dining place and it fills up quickly for both lunch and dinner. So, go before or after the rush. Call them to find out when that is. This advice is probably for summer months only, particularly for July and August. I've never been here during the Fall, Winter or Spring. I think there's plenty of room during those months but I'm not sure. It's best if you can be seated outside on their deck. it's quieter and you'll have a view of the Flathead lake. That's one of the reasons you should go before of after the rush.
