Review of Kiener Plaza

Kiener Plaza

Newly renovated and very upscale. The plants are just gorgeous! There are so many diverse elements to this Plaza. The Runner sculpture with water fountain, marble circular bench, additional water feature, garden areas, organic wooden benches to rest on and a fenced off creative kids play area with an amazing floor. Kids area has unique swing, rope and climbing jungle gym and artsy wood sit-on toys. (Ages 5-12).
Bistro area with tables to enjoy brunch/lunch/dinner from one of the surrounding restaurants. Nice addition to our downtown! Way to go!!

Familiar yet different. The statue of the runner remains and the space is now much more functional for community gathering. The playground is very nice, and is a central spot to walk to citygarden, old court house, or the arch. Can tell that this was a part of the plan to tie the arch project to downtown. Five stars for now - we will see how use patterns develop and how all the new stuff holds up.

Playgrounds in the middle of the city are a must for traveling families. Across the street from the old courthouse offers places to sit, people watch, dog walk but most importantly houses a small and unique gated playground.

In between sight seeing this is the perfect place for parents to sit and recharge while the kiddos expend a little extra energy.

I knew Kiener Plaza was having work done but I didn't realize the scope of it until I saw that the entire park was essentially gone. This is the right approach though as the park was showing its age and certainly paled in comparison to the neighboring Citygarden. The sunken amphitheater has been removed and the entire park will be the same level.

I have fond memories of Kiener Plaza as a gathering place for downtown events, concerts and the fountains framing the Old Courthouse and Arch. I look forward to seeing the completely revamped park after its completion.
