What a treat to travel cobblestone streets, see the keelboat (replica) used by Lewis and Clark, and drink in the ambience of our nation's historic architecture. All that and the charm of seeing those lovely homes restored and the mercantile shops utilizing the smaller homes and business structures along main street for the most charming of retail shops and restaurants.

We moved to the area over 20 yrs ago & have watched this great historical town get better with each year! Renovating, and preserving this place was smart & worth the time & money .They have all kinds of festivals, parades, as well as the restaurants , Bars and shops are fun to go to more then once!! Halloween & Christmas both have amazing decorations & fun activities! Glad they saved this wonderful place!!!

Went to visit my cousin Dan Baddock who is the owner of Lewis and Clark restaurant in the Saint Charles historic district. We got there early and walked around to see the many beautiful shops. Later in the day Dan took us and introduced us to a few of the shop owners. Lovely day spent eating, drinking wine, and shopping. Also, a lovely River Walk in the park.

This is a St. Louis area gem full of history and interesting places to shop and eat. My personal favorite is the Mother-in-Law House resteraunt. It is one of the oldest and very charming.
