If you like amazing architectural features, the library, now used as one of the dining areas, is worth a look. We stopped in this coffee type shop for a quick breakfast before hitting the trails. There’s a little something for everyone. My vegetarian quiche, was a little cold, but very tasty. The chorizo breakfast wrap was a hit at our table.

During our stay in March 2018 we enjoyed breakfast twice at the Worman House. Both times we received great food and service. The decor and view are spectacular. I highly recommend the Worman House. From a simple cup of coffee and pastry to a very nice breakfast or light lunch, this is the place.

This is a nice place to grab breakfast or a quick lunch. Service is very good. Lunch options are not a lot but food is good. Its family friendly.
Closes early, 4.30 pm. I would not recommend as a real restaurant but for lunch or breakfast is fine. Had a nice veggie quiche! and good muffins.

If you want a relaxing dining experience, this is the place. The historic Worman House is beautifully appointed with a spacious dining area and a wall of windows facing the cove and Table Rock Lake. The staff was very friendly. We had eaten at Truman's Cafe frequently because we thought their sandwiches were delicious and we loved the atmosphere of Truman's Cafe. However, this time we discovered that the original Truman's Cafe building is being renovated and changed to Truman's Sweet Shoppe -- a place to have coffee and baked goods/desserts and that Big Cedar opened the Worman House for dining. The new restaurant kept much of the same menu and added other items. I ordered my usual "hot ham & cheese" which, unfortunately, arrived with cold, unmelted cheese and warm ham -- not the same quality as I have had before. The displayed desserts looked delicious so we ordered an apple-cinnamon muffin and a pumpkin spice cupcake to enjoy later that evening back at our room. You can imagine our disappointment when we discovered that we had been given 2 muffins instead -- and that both muffins tasted so awful (stale and mostly tasteless) that they were thrown in the trash. I am hoping that the not-as-good sandwich and the sub-standard baked goods were the result of a bit of chaos because of the move to a different building. We'll definitely be going back again with the hope that the food quality will have returned to its usual high standard. One more wish -- I do wish they would bring back the vegan items that were offered on the Truman Cafe's menu. Before you go, you should read about the history of the place -- including stories about Dorothy Worman's ghost!

The view and setting here is worth the overpriced menu! The food is fine, but as with most Big Cedar dining experiences, way overpriced. But this setting is just gorgeous. Great for a romantic meal or just to enjoy a lunch with a view. Don't miss this spot.
