Two of us stopped for lunch on a road trip that took us through Osage Beach. Most of the tables were filled, but we were seated quickly. Our waitress brought menus and took our drink order promptly; my wife just ordered water to drink. While the waitress got our drinks, we noticed the plates at other tables contained huge portions. Not wanting to eat too much on a long car ride, we decided to split an entree. When the waitress returned, we ordered one entree and a bowl of soup on the side. From that moment on, our server was cold. She brought our food but then was pre-occupied by other customers and didn't return. We had to get her attention three times, once for help, again to bring our check and a third time to pick up the check. From the decor, the menu, the prices, the atmosphere and the extra touches on the food dishes, it appears that this restaurant is trying to be an "upscale" eatery. I guess people who split meals are just not upscale. The food was great so we still had a good meal and I would return. We usually leave a 20% tip for good service, but even though the check prompts for 15%, 20% and 25% we left a 10% tip. I guess were not upscale tippers either.
