The views were incredible

We were shuttled to Panorama(Pine Tree Tours) where our rental car(Eldoo car hire) was waiting for us. The owner was friendly and met us when we arrived. We had Room 2 and the view just blew us away. The apartment was clean, comfortable but dated. The bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. A mobile phone was available for our use but we chose not to use it. Used linen could be left outside our apartment and would be replaced. We were aware of the guests below and tried to walk quietly around but this did not always happen. Something to be aware of.
The apartments are handy to Burnt Pine and to Kingston. Just be prepared for the many potholes while driving. You will also find it easier and safer coming up Middlegate Road from Kingston to the apartments as you will drive straight into the carpark of the apartments. If you come down Middlegate from Burnt Pine you have to hope no car is coming the other way as the apartments sit on a corner.

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms that have awesome views of Kingston, Philip Island and the ocean. Ask for the...

Perfect location. Quiet, with views over Kingston. Only noise is the roosters that start around 2.00am, but that is expected on Norfolk, regardless of where you stay. A bit dated, but very clean. Perfectly suited our needs. A short drive to Burnt Pine town and only 2 minutes drive to Kingston. Brett is very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Would be happy to go back to Panorama.

Room tip: Request Kingston view, not all apartments overlook Kingston.

We stayed in Room 7 for a week. The views from this unit are spectacular but the room was a bit ho-hum. It was generally clean but could do with a good scrub and spruce up (windows, walls, and kitchen tiles were a bit grimy). The linen was clean and the bed was comfy. The thing that ruined our stay was the noise from the unit above. It sounded like a herd of elephants had taken up residence - we heard every single footstep; every time they opened the sliding door onto their balcony; their TV. It felt like they were going to fall through the ceiling and land in our laps! I don't think it would matter how quiet they tried to be - the creaky floorboards and thin walls don't muffle a thing. There was no traffic noise whatsoever which is surprising considering the apartments are almost on the road, but maybe we just didn't hear any cars thanks to the upstairs guests!! If not for the view, we would have been very, very unhappy with this location. We will not stay here again.

Room tip: Room 2 - excellent views and a balcony, and nobody above you to disturb your peace.

We stayed in unit 7,one floor down looking down to Kingston and sea and island views.Brett was so accomadating.with my 94 year old mother in law.He allocated her a separate apartment on ground level so she didn't have to negotiate the stairs.this was very much appreciated. The apartments had every thing we needed and we would highly recommend panorama as the place to stay.

We had two weeks on Norfolk Island and felt like we were locals when we left. I certainly think I had waved to the whole population while driving around (its what you do - everybody waves!). I think we had also seen everything the island has to offer at least once!

Norfolk Island is basically a country town in the middle of the ocean. It is very friendly and very safe. When was the last time you walked into a bank with no security screens at the counter?

We hired a car from Aloha, which was essential wherever you stay, and they and they made sure I was comfortable in it (6' 6" tall). They also gave us a great rate and there was none of the fuss you get from Avis, Hertz or any other big car rental company.

We had apartment 1, which has that fantastic view of the world heritage area and the ocean, but no balcony (all balconies face over the valley). It had a king size bed and flat screen TV in the living room. Digital TV reception is good and we were able to play movies from a USB. The wifi was awful, but maybe we picked the wrong company - Norfolk Telecom might be better.

The kitchen had all the essentials, but we didn't cook a lot. Norfolk Island has some great cafes and restaurants. All supplies arrive by ship, so the supermarket had minimal fresh fruit & veg and fresh milk cost $8/litre, so we used UHT.

The apartments are showing their age, so this is no luxury resort, but it was comfortable and spacious and the manager and staff were friendly and helpful.

The view from our living room was stunning and I doubt anywhere else Norfolk Island has a view to match.

Room tip: Room 1 has the best view, otherwise ask for a balcony

I stayed in Unit 1 for a week, looking south over Kingston settlement, Phillip & Nepean Islands & the beautiful ocean. One bedroom, neat & clean, comfy bed, plenty of space, furnishings a little tired, but when you remember everything has to come by ship & lighter, you don't expect 5-star. The apartment is completely self-catered, so first job is to get to the supermarket - don't forget toilet paper & matches to light the gas stove! A hire car is necessary as the apartment is kms away from Burnt Pine where the shopping centre and tour offices are located. Owner Brett thoughtfully provided a mobile phone with pre-paid credit for tour operators to contact me. You can purchase wi-fi vouchers at reasonable rates to use in the various hotspots. There is a common laundry with washing machine but no dryer. In stormy weather the apartment felt like being on a sailing ship (without the motion thank goodness) - rain hitting the large windows, wind whistling and moaning and things creaking - great fun! I would definitely stay again.

Room tip: Units 1 & 2 look over the sea
