I was on Norfolk Island for a work-related trip. The location suited me perfectly and meant that I didn't need to hire a car as I could walk to where I needed to be. The room was very comfortable. I wasn't in one of the units with cooking facilities but utilised the small kitchen available to guests.
We stayed four nights at Castaway in a Banyan View Apartment. The apartment was self-catering (as most places on the island seem to be), it was clean, had a comfortable bed, fresh linen, everything we needed in the kitchenette & dining/loungeroom area. However, the stand-out feature for us was how friendly and helpful the managers and staff were. This started from when we were making the booking & continued throughout our stay. The hotel is also walking distance to cafes, clubs & shops. Recommended.

Castaway provided a perfect base for our first trip to Norfolk.
The owners and staff were very accommodating and easy to get on with. A hire car, which was essential, was part of the cost of staying and of the highest quality. The rooms were cleaned by friendly and competent staff daily except Sunday. The rooms are a little dated and needed some air flow, but were large, well serviced and had good cooking facilities. Access to a laundry was an added bonus. The bed was comfortable. The bar was open at times with a good brewery and a lovely deck, excellent meals and a great Pizza night on Fridays. The hotel is walking distance from town. We really enjoyed our stay and would return.
We had a great holiday on Norfolk highly recommended and so lucky that Castaway Motel/Brewery was our accommodation.
Tony and Sarah couldn't do enough for you, staff were friendly, professional and you could see they enjoyed working there.
Make sure you make bookings for the Pizza night and Sunday roast and keep Wednesday afternoon free for the long HAPPY HOUR....
