Doña Martha is one of many beach restaurants on Playa Majahua, on the north end of the Troncones beach area. To reach Majahua, travel north on Hwy 200 about 20 minutes, take the Troncones exit, follow the main road & turn right when you hit the beach road. Continue north, the paved road will become a dirt road. Eventually the road will turn to the right, and a cluster of homes & buildings will appear. Look for the Doña Martha sign -- turn left down their narrow driveway, there's a small parking area. A few steps toward the beach and you'll be there! Their staff are courteous & prompt with service, the food was very good. We had guacamole, tortillas with rice & beans, and a big plate of ceviche which was delicious. You can bring your own beer to these venues, altho at 18 or 20 pesos per cerveza, you won't save much bringing your own. The food prices are very reasonable and the beach area is shallow -- great for small kids or anyone who is a bit timid in the ocean. There are rocky reefs if you bring a snorkel & mask. Further along the beach the waves get larger, a lot of fun if you bring a boogie board too. Enjoy Majahua!

Mahajua is not to be confused with Troncones, although they are neighbors. This is in Mahajua, at the end of the beach road to the north of Troncones and around the corner on a little cove where a lot of the local fishermen live. Worth the drive for a more down-to-earth and genuine non-sanitized travel (not to be confused with tourism) experience and some good, down-home Mexican cooking. Since the fishermen pull in their pangas with the day's fresh catch right there, you know it's as fresh as it gets.

A tourist might keep on driving by. A 4seasons kind of girl wouldn't even be in the neighborhood. But a surfer, a traveler, an adventuress, a local or someone looking for more out of life will stop in & get more out of life having dinner here at Marhas. The food is fantastic, the view & sounds of the ocean superb. Wear your shorts & flip flops, have a delightful Margeret & enjoy the food. Shrimp & lobster with garlic butter.

You can't get any closer to the sea than Dona Martha's. This is a classic beach front ramada restaurant. Front tables are on the sand with the water about 15 feet away. It's a little tricky to find but worth the effort. Everything we've tried has been very good particularly the huachinango and the fish fillets. Try the fish machaca for an appetizer. Very friendly staff who prepare the freshest seafood to go along with great margaritas.

We stumbled upon this place after taking the collectivo to the end of the road, The area is called Mahajua I think. We saw the sign for Martha's and walked between some bungalows to a small restuarant right on the bay. We had fish tacos that were anything but ordinary. Made with dorado, and grilled peppers and onions, simple and delicious. I've never seen so much fish on a taco. And fresh dorado is delicious. Not super cheap, I think 100 pesos for 3 tacos but worth it. Try it you'll l9ike it.
