“Best House in Sayulita, beautiful environment, world class view, perfect location.”
Reviewed 10 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We had a wonderful time staying at Casa Agua Azul in June of this year. The house itself is elegant and beautiful with a world class view from the master bedroom and a colorful, inviting lounge and pool area. The location is ideal because you are so close to the ocean, and just far enough from town to escape the congestion, but close enough to walk to the fabulous restaurants and bars that help make Sayulita a wonderful place to be.
I would definitely recommend Casa Agua Azul to anyone who wants a happy, feel-good, classy experience. Do be aware of the many stairs and tile floors, not the best for the very young or very old. Everyone else should definitely make Casa Agua Azul their Sayulita home!!

“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 16 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

This was our first trip that was not spent at a resort/All Inclusive in over 20 years. And our first time in renting a vacation home. Trip adviser and Marcie at Casa Aqua azul made it very enjoyable. Any issues we may have had were taken care of quickly and professionally by Rudolfo. The location was great . By the beach in the north end and a bit away from the clamor of town . Short drive /Walk to Cafe Arte. La Terrazola, Palmar Trapiche just to name a few. It is also not on top of any steep hills (Be prepared for a lot of steps at the casa though) Anyone that wants a nice relaxing time should take a look at this Casa . Thank you everyone for an unforgettable vacation

“Wonderful home, inside and out!!”
Reviewed 8 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Reading the last review made me wonder if they stay somewhere else!

We loved our stay here with the beautiful lush gardens, open and airy design with attention to details.
The open floor plan that leads to a beautiful swimming pool made my trip! I swam everyday at least 3 times a day in the pool!
The 5 minute walk to the long sandy beach was fantastic.
There is a baby sea turtle sanctuary a few minutes walk away to the left and every evening at sunset they release the new hatchings and guard them as they waddled down to the ocean!
One night after dark we witnessed a mother turtle coming onto the beach to lay her eggs, this will be a lifetime memory for me!!
There are a variety of tasty restaurant walking distance away, but I also cooked a few romantic meals for me and my finance, with candle light and the sound of the crashing ocean in the distance. What's not to like?? I can't wait to come back sometime in the future!

“Casa Agua Ran Out”

Unfortunately our stay as Agua Azul was not the best. Many details should have been handled prior to our arrival. One room smells badly of mold and permanently has a dehumidifier for that room (it should be used more often than the guests stay). Pool wasnt cleaned and was very scummy. It was chlorinated during our stay (making it unusuable for a day) which helped the clarity after it was filtered. Remotes with bad batteries, an adundance of keys for various locks around the house, to water running out mid stay for the night, etc - ironically a few of the house guest had food poisoning that night from the wedding dinner! It got sixty people sick. Doh! Bad, long, night for them considering no running water. We mentioned the water that following day and the response we received stated something to the effect that we had numerous noise calls (after the wedding with 8 people having drinks late night around the pool) so dont complain about the water. Yes were had been drinking and were far from loud though im sure we had a few moments. Our safe went bad. It had been worked on by a thief and stopped working apparently. Needed replacement. The safe repair man said it looked like it happened during our stay. Either way, we had to deal with him twice and the replacement quickly ran out of batteries. We all had wifi issues and though not a big deal there were many small things with this house that should have been handled prior to our arrival. THe house has the potential to be very cool, and it appears other guests were fortunate to not have such problems. The master bedroom and shower were great. The kitchen was comfortable as well (expect mouse droppings). There were some there the afternoon we arrived. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and to town. Having to deal with all the minor issues and employees coming over to fix things nearly everyday (all things that should have gone through the once over prior to our arrival) we asked for some minor compensation in return. Deaf ears and denied. We were the early season iron out for this house. This lady's true colors were shown are not there for the guest in my opinion. We were quite polite in our emails to manager during our stay and received less than considerate responses.... in my opinion. Perhaps i have a more discerning taste in customer service. Overall the house could be a consistent winner when managed consistently.

Management Response
7 Nov 2015
AS the rental agent for Casa Agua Azul I can tell you that the property manager did a walk through turning on all lights, fans and opening the safe with the guest when they arrived. All was working at that time. During their stay batteries in some of the remotes went dead and the property manager responded immediately. Keys are a big problem with renters loosing and walking off with keys so lock boxes were installed so that renters could come and go with only needing a combination to get in the house. I can not comment on the wedding dinner or those guest getting sick since this did not take place at the house. I can tell you that in Mexico, government water is NOT always running. Most holding tanks are filled at night so if a 5,000 gallon tank was emptied during the day it will get filled at night. The property manager again responded to their 3 am text at 7 am and there was water. During their ordeal I did however receive numerous emails complaining of the party they were having till 4 am! A rental agreement is signed by renters stating that there will be no loud noise after 11 pm in consideration of the neighborhood. Absolutely no response was made in a negative manner.
There was no evidence of the safe "having been worked on by a theif" during their stay. The safe did stop working and was immediately replaced by our locksmith. Wifi was easily fixed by the property manager when he arrived. Apparently the modem had been moved and the wire in the back had come loose, this done by a renter. Casa Agua Azul is a large house with most of it outdoor living (except the bedrooms and bathrooms). We are in a jungle and can not control mouse droppings if the house is not kept clean. Maid service is available at any time for free and this was stated.
Compensation was not given since all these inconveniences were service related. I might add that request for compensation/discount was asked for prior to their arrival.
Management of the house and all responses were always immediate and never anything but polite. This is not an all inclusive hotel but a casa in the jungle in a small fishing village. I am sorry their experience was not up to their expectations.
