Stunning sea Views!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Aug 2024via mobile
Very comfortable stay at the beautiful Nau Salema! We stayed in a 3 bedroom sea view and it was perfect for our family. Very spacious, clean and the view was absolutely breathtaking!! Every staff member we encountered were professional, helpful and VERY pleasant. Shuttles to and from the beach were great. The village of Salema is something out of a movie. So serene, relaxing and picturesque. We will most definitely return!
Date of stay: July 2024
Room Tip: Definitely get the sea view!

Worst experience at the checkin ever! They make you sign a waver to let them withdraw up to 5000 euros in case they arbitrary decide that you damaged something in the appartment. But there s no photos, no document of the reception of the accomodation with the state of things. You just have to wait and hope that they don t abusively decide to charge you of something random at the end of your stay. Nowhere in the world has something like this happened to us. I would not recommend this resort to anyone, the stress and abuse is not worth it.

We stayed in a 2 bed townhouse with sea-view for family of four (6 nights)
Villa was huge, modern and spotless. It had everything you need for self catering including washing machine and dishwasher. Fully air conditioned. Cleaning staff come every day.
Views from the balcony and roof terrace were amazing. Downstairs has an area with sun loungers.
          Felt private and quiet.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Free hotel buggy will pick you up from the beach if you find the walk too steep.
The whole complex is beautifully maintained.

The villas are brilliant. We had a 3 bed luxury villa near the pool. Great size of rooms. Air con effective (and needed). 4 balconies, air dryer, garden with sun loungers. En suite king bedroom and two twins - big fitted wardrobes, lots of storage. Daily maid service which was great. Lots of towels and you can borrow beach umbrellas for free. Modern kitchen and facilties. Could do with salt, pepper as standard. Would recommend you take some dishwashing tablets and travel washing powder. We got some from reception, 5€ for 5. Ouch. But bar that, it's honestly great. The pool was great, got busy with young children at times, but that was fine.

The wind picks up in the evening, but in July it was refreshing and welcome.

Salema village is small, but beautiful. A few good restaurants and cafes. But it's a really steep hill. The free buggy service from the resort was welcome. Easy to get down, we didn't work out how to book it to get it back up! Not fun in nearly 30C heat.

Salema us about 15 mins from Sagres and 45 mins from Lagos. We chose it as our son loves surfing and it was a mid way point. He loved the surfing at Vila du Bispo (freeride surf school). But in the evening it was quiet and not quite the atmosphere of Lagos for older teenagers. A car is a must not a nice to have.

Reception staff were always helpful and nothing was too much.

Genuinely a great place to stay. We booked through Airbnb and got 20% off with a voucher, which made it all the more affordable.

Room tip: Parking place near house. Recommend take dish washing tablets and travel washing powder. Hire car a must. Borrow sunshade from reception. Lidl and Aldi nearby

These apartments have everything that you need. They were clean, large, effective air con, and the bedrooms were actually cool at night. Our apartment (111) overlooked the pool, and the outside balcony was covered. Some of the balconies aren’t, so if you’re travelling out of season or in season and want shade then it might be worth asking for an apartment with this.

The pool area was great. There are two little shallow pools (one attached to the larger pool) and a larger pool. There were plenty of beds, but some more sun umbrellas would be an improvement in high season.

There is a fantastic service which takes you down the (very steep) hill down to the seafront. We had to wait 10 minutes maximum for this. This was over and above in our view, and it made our holiday a breeze even with a toddler and someone in the group who can’t walk far.

Salema is wonderful. The beach is sandy and clean, there are some fantastic restaurants and cafes, and a couple of bars. There are also trips available, and we did a dolphin watching experience which was brilliant and well worth the money.

My only complaint is that the pool bar was not adequately stocked. In multiple days they did not have the ingredients for cocktails on their menu, certain wines, pop and ice creams. The staff were nice, if sometimes a bit disorganised. This is why I didn’t give the resort 5* as it did take the shine off the experience.

I would recommend this accommodation and we may return.

Room tip: Ask for an apartment which has cover over the balcony There is a deli, cafe and shop 5 minutes walk away Use the buggy service! It’s free

Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Immaculate, spacious and bright. Paid extra for Seaview but so worth it! 3 outside spaces, garden, balcony and roof top terrace. Loved the jacuzzi bath and littke coffee machine. Great cleaners every day, friendly staff. Lovely and peaceful even around the pool. Couldn't fault it and will definitely be back. Be aware of the hill to beach! We didn't mind as we like walking but could be a problem for some, however they do provide a little shuttle car at regular intervals. Salema is ACE in my book. 😊

Room tip: Good shoes for walking up and down that hill! And definitely hire a car
