These apartments have everything that you need. They were clean, large, effective air con, and the bedrooms were actually cool at night. Our apartment (111) overlooked the pool, and the outside balcony was covered. Some of the balconies aren’t, so if you’re travelling out of season or in season and want shade then it might be worth asking for an apartment with this.
The pool area was great. There are two little shallow pools (one attached to the larger pool) and a larger pool. There were plenty of beds, but some more sun umbrellas would be an improvement in high season.
There is a fantastic service which takes you down the (very steep) hill down to the seafront. We had to wait 10 minutes maximum for this. This was over and above in our view, and it made our holiday a breeze even with a toddler and someone in the group who can’t walk far.
Salema is wonderful. The beach is sandy and clean, there are some fantastic restaurants and cafes, and a couple of bars. There are also trips available, and we did a dolphin watching experience which was brilliant and well worth the money.
My only complaint is that the pool bar was not adequately stocked. In multiple days they did not have the ingredients for cocktails on their menu, certain wines, pop and ice creams. The staff were nice, if sometimes a bit disorganised. This is why I didn’t give the resort 5* as it did take the shine off the experience.
I would recommend this accommodation and we may return.
