“Huge rooms, clean but outdated with great staff and good breakfast.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

When we arrived the room was very clean. We did find something wet on the toilet seat, but someone from maintenance came to clean it within 10 minutes of our call. The area felt very safe, but definitely more business rather than shopping. However, it was not far to good shopping or restaurants. Towels were fine in our room I know some others have complained about that. I did find it odd that despite this being an extended stay hotel, they only provided 2 towels for a 2 night stay with 2 people considering there was no housekeeping on the weekends. The first night we had problems with the heater. If it was on auto it never kicked on and we could not get the temperature above 65ish. We were not prepared to change rooms in the middle of the night so we decided to deal. When we complained the next morning they sent maintenance. We were out the whole day and when we returned that night they informed us that maintenance has adjusted the thermostat and it was fine. We ended up having to turn it to "on" for most of the night. It did not kick off so we got really hot. It was either super hot or super cold. We lived through it but I would imagine someone with small kids would have been a bit more inconvenienced. All that being said, it was a nice hotel. I would have preferred a more updated room rather than a kitchen but for $50 per night I can't complain about that. It would definitely be ideal for larger families since there was a separate bedroom and pullout couch. I did wish the had king beds as we were told they we all queen when we arrived. When I called after making the reservation, they did not tell me they were all queen when I requested king.

Upon arriving it looked like apartments turned into an extended stay hotel. But the inside was nice and spacious enough. The room we were originally in had housed cats at some point, so we asked to be switched due to my husband's severe cat allergy and we were moved immediately. The breakfast was good, free laundry is always nice, and the property was centrally located for all our holiday traveling. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had 4 of us, a couple, grandma, and a 4-year old, so we really needed the 2 separate bedrooms so the adults could stay up while our 4-year-old slept. It's hard to complain about a 2 bedroom apartment with free breakfast for around $100 a night. The staff was friendly enough. But the place does look dingy. The exercise room was tiny and cramped. Neither the mastresses or pillows were comfortable. The walls were paper thin so, in the bedroom adjoining another room, we could hear the guest talking on his cell phone as if he was in our room. The TVs might have been from the 1980s and barely got reception. None of these are a huge deal for the price, but this is definitely below the usual Staybridge standards and sorely needs an update.

This was a price line bid and then I read some of the reviews which made me nervous but maybe we are easier to please than some. We were given a two bedroom suite, corner upper. Too much space for the two of us but quiet. It was clean, towels were new and fluffy, blanket double sheeted on bed which was comfortable. Yes,some of the furnishings were dated but not torn or dirty. The televisions ( 3) were not flat screens but were adequate. We liked the breakfast which offered more than some places we have stayed, three kinds of fresh fruit besides banannas, apples and oranges, scrambled eggs, waffles, usual cold cereals and toasts. One day was pork sausage and the other sliced ham.
It was too cold to use the pool and it was closed for the season. We had hoped to use the spa but it may have been broken based on an orange cone in front of it and a comment by an employee. This would have caused us to lessen our opinion of the hotel but it was closed off with the pool area so couldn't really tell. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a "social" time for around two hours tue-thur evenings. Snacks, Bud beer, wine ( not expensive) , salad and a hot dish which was breaded chicken bites the night we were there. I think all this would make it especially appealing for families. The location was in a suburb of the city but not too hard to get downtown.

My husband and I decided to stay for our anniversary. Misake. We had stayed at Stay bridges before that were beautiful, top of the line facilities. NOT this one. It is old, dirty, musty smelling and very out dated. The business center internet would not connect, breakfast was not kept up and overall not a place that I would return to. While the small outside pictures looks nice, do not let that be your deciding factor.
