It's been more than a year since I've eaten at this resturant. What I cannot understand is how menu staple items : eg Chicken Marsala or a few other Pasta Dishes are never prepared the same.
We were seated and greeted quickly - and given an loaf of bread/ olive oil. The waitress did not tell us all wine bottles were 1/2 price, I noticed that on the menu and our party ordered a bottle for $15. Great deal, but the waitress should have told us...Otherwise, very pleasant & friendly.
One of our guests ordered an olive appetizer - and it was served with an entire loaf of bread on the same plate. Really, could have been an entire meal!
In different cities this same app is just served differently, Italian Olives, No bread.
Food was good. Our waitress kept trying to take away plates of food we were still working on - a pet peeve! We told her we were having a long, slow dinner (dining room was only 1/2 full), so I did not feel hurried to leave. Our waitress then just "dropped off" our bill, and never checked back if we wanted coffee, desert, etc.
We did not want to send a search party to look for our waitress, so we all paid our tab in cash and left it on the table.

We intended to use a coupon at P.F. Chang's, but when we entered we were asked if we had a reservation and told it would be a 40-minute wait...despite many empty tables and no one waiting...so we walked out and went to Macaroni Grill instead. It was the Monday of Memorial Day weekend, and they hadn't been busy, so they'd sent a bunch of staff home...then they got slammed! Despite the low ratio of staff to patrons, we were seated immediately, waited on promptly, and we didn't feel we waited too long for food and drinks - drink refills arrived before we knew we wanted them. We ordered two appetizers and the kitchen apparently had a problem with one of them, so we got profuse apologies and they brought us two of the other one instead - fine by us. Then the manager came over and apologized profusely...then they brought our originally-ordered item perfectly prepared, and complimentary. More profuse apologies for the mix-up and the "slow" service. Our waiter got a BIG tip because they were all so wonderful to us despite a hectic evening for them. You know, we were seated, enjoying our beverages and bread, in a nice atmosphere, having a good time coloring on the paper table covers, and they treated us well and pre-apologized for the possibly slow service...we would have waited hours for our meal and not been upset! Maybe we're just really tolerant, but I think if more restaurants had this sort of customer service, they'd have a lot more happy customers. We were pretty loyal to Macaroni Grill before, but now we're real advocates, especially of this location.

I can be a bit of a picky eater, but I have to admit I was extremely pleased with the food and service at this establishment. I highly recommend visiting here.

I can understand how this chain is struggling, as they offer nothing special or unusual or unique. Boring food, boring atmosphere, boring menu. This is the kind of place one goes to when there is nothing else available. The pasta was very boring. The pasta sauce was boring. The meatballs were very boring. The sausage was just ok. Good salad. Our server was efficient and attentive.

We visit here occasionally. Very good chicken Caesar salad/dressing. Also, the Pasta De Mare was chocked full of seafood, mussels, scallops and shrimp in a red sauce over linguine. Large serving, good for leftovers. Nice atmosphere. Thursdays, all bottled wines are half price and they will re-cork the bottle if you can't finish it in the restaurant. They have just updated their menu, but some of the favorites are still available. The bread had more seasoning than usual, it was a little powerful and "musty" tasting.
