We stayed Aug 16-19. Everything was fine BUT our room was above the air conditioning units. As previous comments, this makes the balconies unusable. Can't even have the sliding door open if it's nice. Too bad! I don't know what they can do about it but if you're paying full price, don't accept a room on that side. Room was clean but I don't think the bathroom floor had been wiped up. Same long hairs (I have short hair) there for at least two days. There was other stuff on the bathroom floor also, stuff that had been dropped, so I know it wasn't wiped up, floor must not be included in regular cleaning routine.

Room Tip: Sorry, higher floors on AC side DO NOT have less noise, it floats up. We were high up.

Dear KatrinaJB:

We encourage our guests to provide us with feedback whether Good, Bad or the Ugly, as it allows us the opportunity to take action to our guests concerns. There is no excuse for the bathroom to be in the condition as you have detailed in your review. Cleanliness is something we take very seriously. I preach to my housekeeping management team that there is no degree of cleanliness. It is either clean or not.
As is my practice each Monday afternoon I block out time to inspect rooms together with our Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper as I did today.
The good news I can share with you and other readers is that we have been able to reduce drastically the noise emanating from our new chiller. This was accomplished by installing sound bafflers to the four compressors on the AC unit. Quite frankly, it was something we should have been prior to installing the new chiller.

We trust we will have the opportunity to be of service to you at another time.

Stephen Marshall

Let me start by saying this is a beautiful hotel. The staff are wonderful and all deserve 5 stars.

The bad:
I was at a function this past weekend (August 25) it started to rain outside.....then it started to rain in the function hall.....then there was a waterfall in the function hall then there were 2.... It was unbelievable! I sure didn't expect this from such a fine establishment. They need to fix that roof!!

Then, we left the convention floor to find the hotel lobby taken over by water falling from the sky!!

The good: the food I ordered at the atrium cafe was alright. I ordered a mini Caesar salad with grilled salmon. The salmon was overlooked and when I asked the server for some tarter sauce because the fish was overlooked and dry he made no attempt to replace it. He did get the tartar sauce. :)

Breakfast in the main restaurant was quite good as it should be for $13. I am not a fan of buffets but this one was nice. They have a chef cooking eggs to order and the food was all fresh and tasty. The hand squeezed orange juice was awesome!

The best: the spa is fantastic! You can pay $25 for the day and use their spa facilities to relax which I took advantage of. They have a great sauna, dry spa, heated whirlpool, outdoor spa pool....all in beautiful relaxing surroundings.

I should have slept good at this hotel...the beds are fabulously comfortable...BUT...my room was on the 5th floor above the front door of the hotel....as you can imagine there was a lot of noise from People coming and going. Oh well... At least I had a view of the lake.

Oh...one last thing...the sunset beyond the pool over the lake and mountains was gorgeous!

Dear mrszimm:

The saying "when it rains, it only pours" as a reference when things go really wrong was both real and philosophical for us two weekends ago. As you witnessed and made reference to in your review. We had more than a leak in our convention center two weekends ago. It is estimated that we received 2 - 3 inches of rain in less than 30 minutes. According to our own engineers the drains on the roof simply could not handle the volume of water in such a short period of time. As a result, the water made its way up underneath the flashing on the roof, thus the "waterfall". As for the atrium skylight, that is an ongoing issue which is planned to be remedied later in the year. It is a huge undertaking to correct that problem.
Despite our shofrtcomings on this occasion, I trust you will give us the opportunity at another time to show our best side under better condiitions.

Regards,

Stephen Marshall

We stayed here for a three day weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very nice, the rooms were really clean and the beds were comfortable. We arrived early and the staff was able to get us into our room several hours before the check in time.

The outdoor pool was also very nice and had a great view of the lake. There is also an indoor pool as well. We ate the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning and everything was delicious. There is also a sweet shop on property with ice cream, cakes and cookies. We had a cinnamon roll for breakfast which was huge. Just a warning the dining at the Chateau was pretty expensive so you may consider eating off the property.

The only negative is the long walk from any parking to the entrance of the property. I recommend the parking garage if you do not want to walk up the hill to the entrance of the property. There is also a marina with boat and jet ski rentals as well as canoes and kayaks for use. This is my second stay at this property and i would not hesitate to return.

It was a wilderness like stay that felt luxurious which appealed to both of us. We only had time to stay one night but we arrived too late that evening to fully enjoy all the features of the hotel. Great bathroom and extra sink area out in the main bedroom area too. The bar/lounge was so elegent yet relaxing, wrap around deck to watch an incoming storm had dozen's of people gathered, rocking in their rockers enjoying the night show and watching the lake light up with all the lightening. The pools (indoor & outdoor) both looked fabulous but we didn't get a chance to go in. We did use the complimentary Canoe & take a stoll across the lake the next afternoon after enjoying the great breakfast buffet overlooking the indoor stream and watching the birds in their large cages. Its really hard to tell when you're indoors, they did a great job with the public areas and the rooms that we can't wait to go back again for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Its worth paying extra for a lake view room but the 7th floor still wasn't high enough to enjoy...

First of all Branson is known for all the shows and attractions, but Tablerock Lake is the biggest draw for us and Chateau on the Lake has it all. First, it has great rooms that we found comfortable and very well maintained. Second, the on-site facilities are tremendous. Outdoor and indoor pools and whirlpools, tennis, basketball, in-house movie theatre, and water sports. With a full service marina! We kayaked everyday (free.) And, one of the days we rented a nice pontoon boat for the day, and it was fun and affordable. The resort restaurants are convenient and good. And the staff everywhere was friendly and helpful. If there are drawbacks to Chateau, you really have to go out of your way to find them. One might be it's a hilly property for getting around the parking lots etc., but they have valet parking for a nominal fee, and a shuttle bus that takes you up and down the hill at a moment's notice to get to the marina. This is one of the very nicest places we've ever stayed.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view.
