Went for Sunday lunch. Ordered the chicken and dressing- a generous amount of dressing with maybe two small bites of chicken mixed in. Like the entree, the cabbage and speckled butter beans were so-so. Wouldn't go back since there are better venues.

pretty busy on Sunday lunchtime - when most of the restaurants closed in Starkville, it was tasty and the staff friendly

I only ate here one time. I didn't like it much. The menu is very limited. It's your typical greasy spoon with a southern flair, offering grits and black-eyed peas. Not really my thing.

True southern greasy spoon. Loaded with charm and delicious traditional food. Catfish platter was my choice, four large pieces of deep fried Mississippi catfish covered in cornmeal. Entree included fries , mustard greens, hush puppies, all for $15. Honestly it's enough for two people. The place is loaded with MSU knickknacks and it is clearly a favorite with the college and local crowd.

Great old style ambiance; less than average food. Breakfast was frozen biscuits-honestly expected homemade based on reviews, and so so sausage gravy. Service was friendly and prompt. Sorry about this but you can get fast food fresher and cheaper, at least for breakfast.
