This the quintessential roadside stop. A perfect slice of Americana. Just a fun place to visit with a large variety of yummy food. We had lunch here on our way to the Gulf coast and it was really delicious. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on a ciabatta roll (not sure if they bake them there but the bun was very fresh) and my boys and hubby had the plate lunches (fried catfish and veggies and they loved it). We really enjoyed the food and then we went through the sweet shop to select dessert. Large selection of ice cream flavors as well as candies, cakes and pies (we didn’t try them but they looked delicious!). I also wandered through the garden shop but since we didn’t have extra room due to all our luggage and fishing gear I didn’t get to buy anything but was very impressed with their potted plants and birdhouses, bird feeders, etc. This is a great place to stop whether you want a meal, a snack, or just stretch your legs and get a beverage. Two thumbs up from this family!

This is a quaint little place. Old time country atmosphere and friendly people. The store side is a bit pricey considering the type of merchandise. You can get fresh produce and home made items. The lunch side is old style, home cooking and it is tasty and priced competitively. $8.99 and $9.99 plate lunches. It's a cute, country place.

We left Point Clear, Alabama thinking we would stop for breakfast somewhere around Hattiesburg, MS. However, once in the area, we didn't notice anyplace that appealed to us so we kept on driving. We initially passed Shady Acres Village noticing all the vehicles parked in front of a somewhat ramshackle few buildings. Since it was approaching lunchtime, we thought we'd stop and check it out. The people were friendly as was the overall ambience. The hot food section had ribs, chicken, and fish along with several sides dishes. I ordered roast chicken and my wife ordered ribs. I also had beans and mashed potatoes. The food was great, the price reasonable, and the people watching interesting. I am so glad we stopped here for lunch as it made our drive home so much more fun. I'd stop here again for the food or the experience.
