Great lake a park. It has a few beaches and play areas and a lovely nature trail. It's only a mile and I wish it were longer

Reserved a pull-thru site on ReserveAmerica. Unfortunately the pull-thru loop was not well marked and we drove in the wrong direction. Had to back into site (not really have a pull-thru drive anyway - just concrete pads with hookups set in the middle of the loop). And after setting up we discovered our campsite 50 amp electrical hook-up was bad (we limped by on 30 amp and maintenance did fix it the next day). Nice that they now have a loop close to the office and the marina (not ON the lake like other loops are) with 50 amp water and sewer, but be aware there are no bathhouses (office restrooms closed at night) within walking distance.
But ....This poor park needs better management! We were there on a weekend in Feb. and there was 1 poor staff person in the park on Sun. morning. Computer issues both Sat. and Sun. had visitors very unhappy with her. Restroom in office out of toilet paper. Maintenance and cleaning people hadn’t shown up until after 10AM on Sun.
True - the weekend weather had turned from horrid into beautiful at the last minute, and the park may not have been staffed for that many visitors. And MS budget hard hit just like many parks in the nation, particularly with this national administration. But surely this park - obviously popular and a great resource for the people of MS - could be managed better! A shame!

With a hurricane approaching we were able to sneak in for Labor Day Weekend '17 due to last minute cancellations. Really enjoyed our 1 week stay. Huge site(111), w/full hook-ups and great view of lake. Will definitely return.

Every year several friends get together and spent the Labor Day weekend with each other to round out another year of South Mississippi fun on the water. It goes without saying that we are always satisfied with the park and it's always clean and well kept. The reservation and check-in are both very easy to maneuver and does not cause any stress or inconvenience to anyone who visits.
