We wish we could have stayed longer.
The Queen Charlotte drive of the Marlborough Sound suggested we were in for something special and we were not disappointed.
Charming, secluded tranquility with stunning views from the bed of our spacious room with all necessary BnB amenities.
You can leave your car parked and find plenty to do here; on land, with spectacular hikes, and on water, with canoes and kayaks, exploring the coastline.
Low tide reveals a most intriguing beach.
Nighttime offers glow-worms in a natural setting, away from the tourist hordes (though not as spectacular).
And hey, royalty has slept here, so you're in good company!
Meals can be ordered in advance, and we suggest you do so.
Don't hesitate.
Book it.

Room Tip: all rooms have equally fantastic views!

We wished you could have stayed longer too, as you were delightful clients and a pleasure to have at the resort. The Kenepuru Sound has so much to offer, both on and off the water and we are happy to assist with any plans and bookings to help our clients get out and enjoy these experiences.
We hope on your next visit back to us you will be able to stay la little longer and experience more of what we can offer here at Te Mahia.

It takes a while to get there but it is worth it. Book the Seaview Apartment and enjoy a spacious and comfortable accomodation with a perfect view of the bay. You will even have a complete kitchen, a BBQ and your own washing machine and tumble dryer. The hosts are very friendly and provide you with detailed information regarding options for local activities.

Room Tip: The Seaview Apartments are fantatastic

We had visited for a wedding and even though the weather was terrible Te Mahia is a beautiful bay for relaxing and getting away from the city. Since arriving on Friday we were welcome by Jann and Trevor the owners and shown to our room. What a view from the room! Our room is in need of a renovation however well equipped for our needs while we were there. We even ordered pizza ($18) which arrived to our room on time. Great little getaway in the Kerepuru Sound, must recommend to anyone visited Queen Charlotte drive.

We are so pleased that your stay at Te Mahia was wonderful and yes the views are still amazing even with the inclement weather. They say rain on a wedding day is supposed to bring you good luck! We do hope you can come back and visit again soon.

We were delighted with the one bedroom cottage at Te Mahia. We had sea views from our bedroom and living area, and tropical forest views from the kitchen. The full kitchen was fully-equipped -- everything we needed for three wonderful nights of cooking in after hiking. The shower was large, the toiletries very nice, and we had a washer and dryer in our unit. The deck space was very inviting, also with sea views. The owners were friendly and knowledgeable, helping us plan our daily hikes.

We stayed here for two nights, and absolutely cannot fault the surrounds, the facilities and the lovely room that we stayed in.

We do however have one regret from our stay and to be honest following this, it really did put a dampener on our stay. We asked the woman owner to print off a document for us as I have often done with other resorts/facilities in the past. However, she took it upon herself to read our private document and make comment in person and via email. This was totally out of line and left me feeling quite disgruntled.

If you don't need to get any documents printed during your stay I would say this beautiful resort is a lovely place to stay and I would have given them 5 stars, however because of this incident I must give them three stars.

This post has already been removed officially once by Trip Advisor because it was found to violate their guidelines.
I wish to strongly clarify yet again, that the comments/advice that I offered was not from reading any private documents but from the casual generic conversation I had with her husband in reception.
We conversed for a few minutes about her up and coming plans and it was he who informed me of the information. As a professional in this field I kindly offered him some advice and guidance that I thought may assist her. I also spoke with her in person about the same, a few minutes later when she was in her vehicle. She thanked me for the advice at the time. It was half an hour later that I sent her what I thought was a curtesy follow up email to help her with this process as it explained to me that it was her first-time officiating. These comments were all of a generic nature and nothing was specific or pertaining to any documents printed at the office.
We are often requested to print documents for clients, this is always done very professionally and these are then deleted from our computer. The majority of time this is a done free of charge.
I am pleased that Te Mahia’s surrounds and facilities met and exceeded their expectations as we take pride in our resort and what we have to offer.
