Ate lunch here with my brother who raved about the roast beef poboys- and he was so right. While small, it is very clean and charming. The staff was friendly and service was quick. We split the large roast beef poboy and had potato salad with our meal. It was welll dressed, plenty of gravy and wonderful roast beef. The potato salad was the perfect side with the sandwich. Looking forward to trying some of the other sandwiches (tuna and chicken salad for sure!). Very reasonable prices, too.

The roast beef po-boy was great. The potato salad was even better. Great food, great people. You should try this one out. It is off the beaten path around the corner from the Half Shell in a small building.

Berry and I had just visited the Mardi Gras museum down the street and were doing a walking tour of the Mary Maloney area when hunger beckoned. Lo and behold there was Rena's Deli. The menu was posted in the window, always a plus. The prices looked right so we said yes, time for lunch.
Rena's is small, seating perhaps twenty, and quite casual. Step to the back, place your order, pay, fix your own beverage at the beverage table, take a seat and wait to be served. Our order to table delivery was perhaps two minutes.
Berry ordered a scoop of chicken salad served on a bed of lettuce and a couple tomato slices and crackers. His word for it, "plain; not the way I make chicken salad." Gin ordered tuna salad, also on a bed of lettuce, etc. Her word for it, "plain, not the way I make tuna salad." To make up for the unimaginative salads, the staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the prices probably can't be beat. It looked to be a favorite for locals.
