We were warmly greeted, offered hors d'oeuvres and wine by the fire, showed around, and welcomed to our stay in the carriage house. The house is immaculate, the owners kind, service great, and the food delicious. We were very well taken care of from check in to check out. If you're interested in the history of the house and the area, there are books galore, as well.

Room Tip: I didn't tour the whole house, but the carriage house is very large and private.

We arrived in the middle of a 15-inch snow storm, and were warmly greeted by Cathy and Jerry. After showing us to our room, we were offered wine and appetizers in the library, in front of a cozy fire. The Christmas decorations in the house were very nice and complemented the beautiful woodwork in the home. The early coffee/tea delivered to our room was nice. The first morning we had breakfast delivered to our room, and the second day ate in the dining room so we could talk with Cathy and learn more about the house. The breakfasts were very good, and Cathy gladly accommodated my wife's food allergies. There was just enough to eat, not so much that we went away feeling stuffed. Our room was very comfortable, with a warm porch that gave us a great view of the falling snow and the river. We really appreciated Jerry sweeping the snow from our car in the morning, after working so hard to keep the parking area cleared! We have stayed at many B&Bs, and rate this one with the best, and hope to return sometime!

My husband and I just stayed at the Inn for the 3rd time and once again thoroughly enjoyed it! Our first stay was 4 yrs ago in Aug. The innkeepers always make us feel so welcome, the decor is gorgeous, and the food delicious! The rooms are very comfortable and I love the coffee delivered outside my door first thing in the morning! This time we stayed the first wkend of Dec, and my daughter and I went on the Victorian Christmas tea at 5 of the B&Bs in Stillwater. It was amazing! I would definitely recommend it! All of the innkeepers were very inviting and getting to tour the B&Bs was awesome! However, my daughter and I both agreed that the Aurora Staples Inn had the best Christmas decor through out their entire house and it was were we felt the most comfortable. We both curled up on the couch by the real fireplace and enjoyed our tea! Since they have a limited amount of tickets each year you'll want to get yours early-they sell out fast! Whether you visit during the summer or winter I think you'll find the Inn a wonderful place to stay! Marilyn J

Marilyn. It's always nice to see you, and it was great to meet your daughter. Thank you for your kind words in writing the review. I shared part of this with the other B&B's, as they always like getting a response on how people feel about the tea. Thank you again, and I hope you'll visit again soon. Cathy and Jerry

If you are looking for a B&B that takes you back in time and has a "feel" of the historic victorian era this is your B&B. The inside is just stunning, with the decor, furniture and plenty of historic reads and information on the history of the house. If you are like me, and you just relish knowing all the history of a historic house, you will LOVE staying here. It has had such few owners sinse the original owners that the history is short and easy to access. They even have pics of the historic family. Upon arriving you can have wine and an appetizer plate (you feel very spoiled) and are put immediately at ease with the owners who are so laid back and humble. All the rooms are incredible, its really hard to choose which one to stay in. I will note that the original bedroom furniture of Aurora's is in the St. Croix suite. The delicious and filling breakfast is at 9am and they serve coffee and tea earlier. There is a long wrap around front porch with alot of seat choices. This is just the most beautiful inviting B&B we have ever been too. They also have wedding packages available to hold weddings in the house or during nice weather, in their stunning gardens on the property. We are going to do our vow renewal ceremony here next year in the english garden and do a catered reception afterwords in the house. It is the type of place you wish you could live!

Room Tip: They are all outstanding!

We spent the night for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The room was great with a porch swing and a peekaboo view of the river. The innkeepers accomodated my gluten allergy with great food and no fuss. We'd go back and will recommend to friends.

Room Tip: The one with the wicker porch furniture had extra privacy. The porch was light and airy. The porch swing made me want one for my back yard.
