It was a nice experience for my kids, seeing them look in awe at the elephants and the sun bears made me happy too.
To avoid the hustle and bustle of KK malls, I've made an arrangement with the local taxi to take us to the zoo. It was worth it .
The park or zoo needs more prepping up to attract more visitors. The animal show was fun anyway. My kids loved it.
Went to Lok Kawi wildlike park with my mom earlier this month. We both enjoyed the animal show! The presentors were very knowledgeable about the animals and it was very interactive. There were many different animals to see. But don't expect a high standard maintenance on the animals nor the cages. The reptile are had a very foul odour. Perhaps it could use a bit of cleaning!
This place has a lot of potential, just needs funding for proper maintenance! And hopefully they will remove the chains on the elephants!!
Really is not a wild park, ( or all depen on what you think is wild ) it is more like a zoo. they have fairly good spaces for most of the animals, but i saw a gray, small kind of leopard that was confine in a cage , he looked so sad that i can't forget about it.
Of course they need money to keep this place and will see that there is not that much. The fare for foreigners is the double and they do not take other unless they take as low as they want.
We spent an entire morning at the park. It is very "walkable" but they do have a small train with three stops if you choose to use it. The train gives you a near-complete overview of the park in order that you may pick and choose those areas you want to return to and spend a bit more time with the animals. It was quite hot and humid, but that's not surprising since you are in equatorial climes. We also saw a few animals that we had not seen before in other zoos (bentang, probiscus monkeys, etc.) It was a well-spent morning!
Most are closed. Aviary closed. Rhino extinct.
However, is great to see orang Utan in closer view. That's the only thing I satisfy.
