We have enjoyed Bar la Grassa on numerous occasions with other couples seated in the dining room and as a solo couple seated at the bar with a view of the kitchen. This is a great cold-weather spot since the atmosphere is warm, lively, and they have valet parking! The aromas coming from the open kitchen are sublime and our menu favorites include: Lobster & Egg Bruschetta, Chicken Liver Pate, Gnocchi w/ Cauliflower, Pappardelle w/ Ragu, and Spaghetti w/ Lobster. Any of their fresh pastas are delicious and we are rarely disappointed. Half portions are available too.

I’ve been going here for years with family, friends, date nights. The food is unreal. We often get small sizes of the pastas to share because they are all so great! We love the Pasta Negra and the “Rabbit pasta” (as we call it). The soft eggs and lobster bruschetta is another must try! The drinks are great, the wine list is large and all the staff are incredibly educated on each bottle. We have never had bad service! Dissert is frequently their lemoncello, which is sweet and refreshing after a large meal. And, since they are so wonderful, a reservation is strongly recommended. But you can often find a spot at the bar with equally excellent service early or later in the evening. Do yourself a favor and GO HERE!!

I've always recommended this place for years, love the bar & the bartenders...
Took a friend there this summer and we ate in the dining room. We both ordered the lobster bruschetta... as it's "a must have" item...

and wouldn't you know it.. It was clear to both of us & I'm sure to the server as well.. that these plates came to the table with all the edges of the toast obviously burnt.. like charred.
This server just dropped them off and never came back to check how things were... which of course is a total pet-peeve of mine, as we both had worked in restaurants for years and know better.
The soft coddled eggs were rather cold and gloppy with cubed chucks of unmelted cream cheese tossed into the mix. I can't even remember what else we had at that point.. as it all seemed to go down hill from there.
Sometimes it's not worth bringing things up like this to the server... who is oblivious to her surroundings. We've all worked with people like this...
and the kitchen crew, quality checking the plates before they go out on the floor.. it's a good thing.

Fun place to go that still has energy after 10pm. We stopped here after a show at the Guthrie and the ambience was perfect and dinner was incredible!

Three of us opted to sit at the food counter to bypass the wait for a table. We loved it! The server was prompt and professional. Her recommendations were excellent (veal and rabbit pasta along with cauliflower gnocchi). Bonus, we had a straight-on view of the kitchen which we always find fascinating, especially one as bustling as this one.

The pasta was incredible--appropriately sauced with the right amount of protein in each bite. The rabbit and veal was perfectly cooked to a fork-split tenderness. The real surprise was the gnocchi. My son and I needed some encouragement from his mother to give it try, thinking it would disappoint relative to the flavorful pasta dishes. It was, however, the star of the trio. The peanut-sized gnocchi were expertly cooked and slightly charred, resulting in a unique combination of both chewy and crunchy. The cream sauce was slightly lemony and accentuated with a splash of fresh herbs. Wow.

We'll be back for the gnocchi (and the wine, and the pasta, and the...).
