“Fab walking weekend ”
Reviewed 23 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Left the kids at Grans and spent a weekend with my husband and dog in this little hideout and did not want to go home. The host, Paula was most friendly and was there to greet us upon arrival.
The cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped. There is a log burner in the lounge and a private hot tub in the garden, both of which made for wonderful winter evenings.
Surrounding area was beautiful. The view straight out of the door is amazing, miles and miles of unspoilt countryside. We spent the 3 days walking and exploring the surrounding area(s), finding good country pubs to eat in and sitting in the hot tub under the stars at night. Hebdon Bridge is a 10min drive or you can walk it through the valley/along the river in about 2hrs. Lumb falls was 15mins on foot. We also spent a morning at Hardcastle Crags which is a dog walkers paradise.
There is no broadband and neither of us got phone signal inside the cottage so leave your ipad at home! Consider bringing some earplugs if you are easily awoken. There was a dog barking at 2-3am both nights. My husband slept through it no problem though.
Really felt away from it all. Would definitely book again.

“Hidden delight”
Reviewed 13 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Want to get away from it all but feel spoiled and comfortable? Then this cottage is for you. It's warm, clean and very well appointed. And there's a hot tub. Just outside the door in your own little private garden. A wood burning stove in the cosy sitting room made for a lovely evening.
The owner Paula is charming and friendly and I would definitely recommend this place.

“A gem awaiting discovery”
Reviewed 1 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

This has been a delight from booking to leaving.

The communication has been first rate and the owners clearly care about their customers.

Clean, comfy, well stocked and the most comprehensive local knowledge folder Ive ever seen.

I will be back!

this cottage was perfect inside very clean and tidy, the only downfall was the hot tub being in front of the house not near the cottage and is quite open, so people who live in the house would see you in the hot tub, this is a bad point

Management Response
26 Mar 2016
Hi Paula and many thanks for your response. We have tried to make it explicit in the cottage description that the hot tub is the family hot tub and not for the sole use of the cottage. That having been said Roger and I have been discussing the possibility of getting the cottage a hot tub for its own purpose so watch this space!
Kind regards
Paula
