Packed with people but a beautiful forest walk to the beach, the caves are unusual & quite impressive so definately worth seeing. Road in is not great & seeings how they charge for this attraction it would be nice if they could eventually seal the road from the proceeds.

When visiting you need to check whether it is open in advance as it only opens when the tide is out. If the weather is great you will have a great visit. Beware of the sandflies and take precautions. It is interesting and a great place for pictures. The walk down to the beach is steep and therefore you need to think that you can manage back up, if your fitness is poor it might not be for you. No disabled access.

A great spot. A tight turn in from the main road - pays to drive up to whistling frog then turn back if heading south
$5 pp
About a 20 min walk each way - then about a 10 min walk along beach - not for the disabled or strollers/prams

The car park is on Maori land and it was $5 per adult and $1 per child. There is a walk down to the beach and visit one of the 30th longest sea caves in the world. Check when low tide is and aim to get there an hour or more earlier as the car park is closed the rest of the day.

A must see sight. You can only access it either side of low tide so check it out first. A lovely walk through the bush before arriving on the beach with another 5 min walk to the caves. You have to pay $5 in cash at the start of the walk, the caves are on private Maori land. Worth the price.
