they do a nice job of maintaining their trails. There's enough to choose from so you can get out of the main resort and get into some decent backcountry. I used to ski here quite a lot and would get a pass by the day. They have a nice warming area in the lodge and rentals too. Good place to take the family and get a taste of XC skiing.

I wish there was a "good" bubble option, in addition to average.

We stayed in the cabins in late fall, and it was nice and quiet. The MTB trails are really good and convenient. It's pet friendly, and our great dane Gwen loved her walks in the morning. The cabins are rustic, but they have running water, a fridge and a stove. It had a space heater for heat. The wi-fi was temperamental.

Great for families and people with dogs. I imagine there are a lot of activities in the summer. It'd be interesting to visit for some cross country skiing in the winter. Really nice surroundings and scenery.

We enjoy timber ridge. Weekends are often themed and have something for the kids all weekend. It's right on the vasa trail so kids can also bike all day. Then at night the dodgeball starts. Usually a laugh fest.

Timber Ridge has a commercial operation that rents virtually brand new skis boots and poles for only $15 per half day. Trails from the center lead directly to the larger and well known VASA trail system. Besides renting skis the other big advantage to starting at the Timber Ridge trailhead compared to the VASA trailhead is elevation. You are already near the high elevation point so the skiing from here is easier. The entire VASA trail system is huge, well supplied with fresh snow due to the location and groomed for both skate skiing and skiiing in the well maintained tracks. Rentals for both types of skis are available at Timber Ridge along with the current state of the art snowshoes for the dedicated snowshoe trails(please stay off the ski trails) Trails are all well marked so you know in advance how big each loop is and how far along you are. The wooded setting holds the snow longer into spring than other nearby trails. When you're all done you can get warm refreshments back at Timber Ridge in the lodge.

We stayed for almost a week. At NO time were all of the toilets functional in the restrooms (frequently none of the toilets worked) and most of the time there was toilet water running across the floors. They have friendly staff and lots of activities, so why the total lack of attention to this basic camper need? It's a deal breaker. I will never return.
