Frenchie's is a wonderful American small town icon for breakfast / lunch. We love Traverse City, Michigan and we love their special "little places" that are like nowhere else" in America. Frenchie's is that kind of place. Here is the problem and part of the charm: Frenchie's is very small. Seating is available for only about 10 people. OK, but the owners really do not care if all of the tables are filled, and make no attempt to accommodate those patrons that are waiting outside for a table. They refuse to take a order from those people who come in for carryout, with the excuse that "we are too busy, come back later". When you finally get your food...... the coffee, which is great, is put in front of you in a flash, with no sugar or cream, and no spoon to stir it even if you had the sugar for cream. If you stand at the counter to ask for these items, you are ignored and can not get any service. The last time we were there, I actually walked behind the counter (because no one was paying attention) and grabbed the sugar and cream myself. The french toast and the crepes were delicious, but again they came with no napkins or utensils. After our food was served.... no return to our table or coffee refills. We had breakfast at Frenchies in 2013, 2014, and 2016. We love this place, but HATE the service. Come on Frenchie's, get your act together, and realize what at great thing that you have!

Nestled just off the bay on Randolph St this place is a true gem. It seats only 12 but don't let that fool you. Everything is home made.. biscuits, eggs and gravy with a splash of cilantro .., The menu is very complete with something for everybody.. enjoy, bon appetite

We went to Frenchies for a late breakfast, but they say they stop serving it at 11am. However, they have a number of breakfast specials available until they close. I had pastrami (their specialty) hash wiith poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, and my husband had huevos rancheris verde with pork. Both dishes were very good. A warning: the place is tiny. We think at most that can sit 12 people. Go on the later side on a weekday, and it won't be as crowded.

My parents ran across this place. I had mentioned it a few times, so they decided to give it a try. They hated it so much, I feel personally responsible and feel the need to share... "Smells like the place was on fire, someone pissed on it to put it out, and then painted over. The 'famous' pastrami sandwich tasted like fried armpit. The soup was served on a teacup saucer with one pumpkin seed on it. Overpriced. Ridiculous seating. It's one thing to be trendy and another to be so cheap you are conducting business in an alley with a top on it."

Fun place to visit. The host was very good! We had a good time while sampling the whiskey! The whiskey was smothered with a bite.
