Zack’s is a friendly family style restaurant located approximately .8 of a mile south of the heart of Downtown Plymouth. The restaurant has large booths and tables, lots of windows and plenty of parking. The reasonably priced menu offers basic American, Greek and Mexican fare along with a large selection of breakfast items served all day. We went with two friends for breakfast on an October Saturday at 9:00 a.m., were seated immediately, and offered coffee and ice water right after we sat down. The clientele, including a number of kids, was varied and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. We have sampled variations of the classic American breakfast of Scrambled Eggs or Egg Whites, Bacon or Sausage and Potatoes in many cities and a number of states so one of us tried Zack’s offering for comparison (see the attached photo). The portions were hearty and everything tasted good. A small note, the hash browns were nice and crispy on top but a little mushy on the bottom. One of us is a stickler when it comes to hash browns. Overall everything was decent. The coffee was very good, not bitter, and our cups were frequently refilled without asking (always appreciated). If you like hearty American food, or like to occasionally, or frequently, eat at local restaurants that are NOT chains, this place is worth a try.
