After our good experience with Tierra Tours in Granada we decided to book the Juan Venado tour by boat with them. Christian was our guide and he made our tour! He’s super friendly, very knowledgable and honest. Hector was our captain during the tour and he was very friendly as well.

The tour through the mangroves is a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Don’t expect to see big mammals, you’ll see a lot of birds, some fish and if you’re lucky a cayman and some iguana’s.

I enjoyed this day trip because it you get so much out of it - scenic drive, great hike, fun adventure to board down, and fruit and pizza and beer! The tour was very reasonably priced. The guides were nice.

The shuttle from Leon was over crowded and over filled this made for a hard trip there and back. The trek up to the top was amazing, the views are outstanding. The info from the guid was good and painted a good historic picture of the Volcano. It was hot and packing water is a must, the wind was strong as well . The views from the top alone are worth the trek. The safety info for the ride was clear, the equipment was not bad but not the best. The ride down was incredible, and quick. I would recommend this activity.

The volcano boarding was an awesome experience. I highly recommend it. Not only was the volcano great to visit; but the sled trip down was awesome . Tierra Tours is very nice and helpful. They took good videos of each person sledding down. But they fell short in two areas. They did not tell us to wear close toe shoes. Not until we were suited up did it come up. Your feet are you brakes. Also - all of the other outfits were given bandanas to cover their face (mouth, nose etc.) and they did not provide them. Their photos show everyone wearing them; but they no longer provide them. It is no fun have sand / pebbles flying into you mouth and nose as you go down. You will be blowing pebbles out of your nose for a good day. They offer free pizza afterwards; which was just ok. The guide just left while folks were finishing up and some were wondering how they get back to their hotels. The sudden exit was a bit weird.
