Stayed at this lovely place for two nights in a private room with a shared bath. The room was very clean, staff were friendly and the kitchen was nice. Free pancake breakfasts offered each morning. Quiet. People do yoga in the lobby each morning and read books in the lounge in the evening. A nice supermarket (with ATM and cheap restaurant) is just a five minute walk from the premise. Transportation arrangements can be made at the front desk.

We are two females aged 24 from the UK.
We booked to stay in a private room, shared bathroom at tortuga blooda because it was cheaper than Bigfoot hostel.
When we arrived the staff were friendly, the hostel had a good kitchen space with a shelf and a box for each rooms food and a large fridge. They also have free breakfast in the morning and free coffee available all day!
They offered us a private room with an ensuite after a slight mix up at no extra cost. It was spacious, with a cupboard and hangers which is nice after a while of travelling.

Downside: the bed was not so comfortable and gave one of us bad back pains.
The other issue was with the wifi. The wifi was slow and for a quiet hostel where you go to chill out wifi is very important to catch up with people and plan future travels.
Location is also not great. Close to a supermarket but a good 10 min walk from anything else going on.

Overall though it was nice for a few days!

Very well-equipped kitchen. Pancakes, bananas and honey provided free of charge in the morning, along with all day coffee. Very reasonably priced beverages on-site including beers. Wifi good but not excellent. Stayed in a room with 1 bunk and a double for $33/night, then in a 10 bed dorm for $8/night. Pool table, loads of places to relax, lots of information available for local tours and activities. Comfortable atmosphere, highly recommended.

I liked the atmosphere because its easy to grab a beer (self service) and just chill in a chair or hammock, or have a chat. They have good internet, spacious patio, pool table, nice equiped kitchen and free water refill with ice cubes in the refrigerator.

Slept in dorm and private room. Dorm is a bit crowded but you have your own ventilator and big locker. Private room was ok with ventilator and shared bathroom with really nice shower (feels like a waterfall ;))

Staff was ok, liked the woman in charge; very helpfull and participating. The guys were a bit ignorant, sometimes not awnsering simple questions..

Great hostel, very friendly and welcoming.
Staff was extremely helpful, and the hole place have a good backpackers-friendly-vibe to it.
Do-it-yourself pancake breakfast served all morning, very convenient and fun.
Pool table in good shape, very big and equipped kitchen.
Recommended!

Room Tip: The upstairs private room (i think it was 8) is just the best deal for your buck ever, private porch with hammock and much space.
